Ok, so I just got home from a shopping trip to Walmart. I'm standing at checkout. There was an older woman in front of me and a younger woman/child at the register. I had my Ego on a lanyard and I took a puff. The younger woman turns around, pulls her PV (also on a lanyard) out of her top and yells "HEYYYY!!".

We started comparing models and flavors and the poor woman in between us was so baffled. She finally turned to me and asked me what it was. I explained it and told her that I used it to kick a 2 1/2PAD habit. She told me about her adult son who lives with her and smokes. He's not supposed to smoke in the house but does so in his room. She has asthma and it really bothers her.

Needless to say, a CASAA card and point to the ECF and she was off to tell her son.

That was too fun lol.

That's awesome! Nothing like a PV to make two complete strangers best friends in .3 seconds and possibly save a bystander in the process! That must of been hilarious for the person in check-out behind you to see.... "wtf is going on??"

LOL yeah I had about 3 other shoppers behind me in line and they were sort of gathering around during my spiel lol.

Same here - I know they are sold and bought, but I do not see it publicly being used (except for me)... Everyone must be vaping behind the dumpster!!! In my 6 months of vaping and the 1 year I researched (big procrastinator) I have seen 3 or 4 people vaping. That includes me going up to Atlanta and the malls...

If you want to see more vapers, try going late in the evening. I openly vape my SB or Don all the time. I often see quite a few ego-like devices. Now that I think about it though, I don't think I've ever seen any cig sized PVs though. I often tell new vapers to avoid the ones that look like a real one for that reason alone.

Had another interesting experience last night. I had my pv at my daughter's choir concert (and before I get yelled at, I was sitting in the end seat of the very last row of the nosebleed section. It was dark and I held in the vapor. Note: the concert was over 3hrs long, but I only took 3 hits)

Anyhow, a guy sitting a couple seats to my left asked me about what I was holding in my hand during the intermission. He asked if it was a cigarette and I said "yes, it's electronic"

He asked me if it worked, etc then asked me how long I've been using it. I told him almost 3 years. So he asked if it had nicotine and I said yes.

His reply "So, in almost 3 years you haven't been able to reduce to no nicotine? When are you going to stop using that?"

My reply "when they pry it from my cold dead hands :D"

He seemed a bit disgruntled by that, but I explained that nicotine has been shown to have some actual benefits to its use and when used as I'm using it, is about and dangerous as caffeine.

He was surprised to hear that and seemed to lighten up a bit afterwords, but who knows.

Can't please everyone I guess.

When did it become totally acceptable to just totally .... into other peoples' business? I know it's public, but I don't go around asking people what they're putting into their bodies and when they are going to stop. In a restaurant, I don't ask if a person's meal has fat in it or ask why they are getting a big slab of chocolate cake. Plain curiosity is tolerable, but obvious disdain just ruffles my tailfeathers.

That's a weird one and I don't really understand it. When I try to explain what I'm doing even after I explain how much less harmful it is and that I'm doing it instead of smoking, the next question is, "So when are you going to quit that?" I usually say, "It's not any more harmful than coffee, why would I bother?"

they seem to be more common up north.might be the price where stinkies can be triple the price than for us.

Without a doubt that's a factor. I work in a group that is based in NY though I'm in Hickory, NC. Shortly after that massive tax increase in NY, I was up there for a trip and we went out to have some beers at the end of the day. I stepped out for a smoke and 5 people followed me out to bum off me. :) That was before I started vaping.
