wrapping your wick around a syringe is a great way to go. Makes it more of a "straw" that really wicks nice. Remove the syringe to cut your wick and insert it into the tank of course. I am using 400 mesh with a 1.5 ohm coil on my provari.. it vapes so nice. The DUD's fit perfectly and exactly over a gus mod g16. Those mods are for 14000 series batteries, and it looks so nice on it.

While wicking hasn't been a problem, I can see the value of the hole in the wick to allow pressure to escape. Seems like if I had a hole in the wick I should be able to close the fill hole which would be nice.

To be a little scientific the center hole actually reduces true wicking (capillary action). The Juice goes up the hole because of thermal action (heat rises, like a mini volcano). This is not necessary on a good wick. When this suction occurs and a vacuum is formed in the tank the vacuum actually sucks the juice back down into the tank and in turn reduces the amount of juice in the wick. So the best for releasing any vacuum is a separate air vent for the tank. I use all mine without the second screw and others have just reduced the second screw hole size. Lab tests showed densely rolled wicks with no center hole wick better.

Well, I don't see wicking as a problem, wicking is fine. What I meant to say is that I would give up some wicking to vent the tank. The problem I have is the lack of venting with a solid wick, such that it is hard to fill with fluid.

Here
That's a "Chid or DUD" with a syringe tube for tank on an EVO Intelligent LCD. I got my DUD from Clouds of Vapor, syringe from Tractor Supply (Ideal Instruments) and the EVO from Discount Vapors.

Thanks for the info, RedFox. That EVO Intelligent LCD device looks really nice. It looks relatively small, too (unless you have giant hands). I don't see it offered at Discount Vapors, and googling the product just leads me to Alibaba and having to buy 100 of 'em. I have a VV iTaste and I like the "intelligent" feature of it (even though it's sometimes wonky and gives one recommend range and then if you do that again right after that it'll give a slightly different range).

Is the LCD screen easy to read on that EVO of yours? It looks pretty decent in the photo. I also have a VV eGo and I find the screen difficult to read: the black writing is very faint.

And of course that DUD/CHUD looks really sweet, too. Your floor looks good, too.

i tend to chain vape and my putting the hole in the wick almost makes it like a straw that i'm literally pouring juice down.. but basically i've just had better experience rolling a wick around a syringe needle. even the zen wicks that come with the ZAP (which by the way are ridiculously well oxidized) work better for me if i wiggle a small needle through them to open them up.

but as far as the fill hole screw goes.. I always leave it out. wicking nearly ceases when I have it in. I don't even know where the screw is anymore, I took it out and left it out the moment I got my dud. and no problem with flooding or leakage, as the fill hole is on the opposite side as the wick hole (and I hold the wick at the bottom when vaping) and otherwise my pv is always standing up. but even when left on its side I havent had any trouble with leaking.

also, clear tanks, I just ordered a few in Bucky's most recent co-op, should be coming in a couple of weeks (along with my GUS MOD!! so excited..) they are pretty helpful, and look pretty good.

Thanks for the info Martinc. Just ordered one from IBTanked and we'll see how it fits.

There is always a little variance in glass and the orings are so tiny on the DuD it doesnt leave a lot of room for error. If it does not work with the stock orings use the ones provided. You will have to tuck them into the groove as they are 14mm and the stock ones are 13mm but the little extra rubber gives enough material to fill the gap and make contact with the glass for the seal.

I have some special order incremental orings coming and may be changing them in the future if they are a better fit. Also thinking about doing a beveled tube for a more finished look if there is interest.

On the edge of insanity..

He said a while back that he was going to get more in, but I guess not. I had an iTaste (Rev 2) as well and while I liked the overall size of the PV, I prefer larger mods. The EVO LCD is 1 cm in diameter and 13 cm tall, about the same as the lava tube.

This has one of the best LCD screens that I have seen. It is very easy to read from every angle and the blue background with black writing has great contrast to it.

Thanks for the compliments :) I will probably not be keeping this setup? I am starting to lean toward mechanical mods, and really want to save up to get a Provari at some point. I think I might start selling off a lot of my stuff (which isn't much) to buy one. I only have one mechanical mod right now, I am liking the DUD on it @1.0 ohms 3.6 volts.
