I'm going to hold out for the Shriner Monkey video from MicroCig. I love watching monkeys smoke.

Who doesn't love a video with a Monkey in a Red Shriner Hat smoking a stoggie?

R4 in a couple of weeks might make all these mods moot. Let's hope so.

BTW - The head of a Dry Wall Screws fits perfectly inside a 510 Carto for pushing the seal onto the cup.

I considered this.

But after I boiled a used carto it seems to be as clean as a new carto, minus some gunk on the wick at the coil.

I think the bigest factor in a carto leaking is a wick that lays flat in the slots. Perhaps it is the gunk in the slots or the seals swell up and get larger. I just know that leaking seems to become less or completely end as the carto gets older.

Mine are less prone to leaking after they have been in use. My seals are solid brass, so no swelling on that account.

I had something kinda weird happen today. I had to go out for most of the day so I grabbed a few older standard 510 CE2's and put 'em in my pocket. These were ones I'd cleaned plenty of times but they worked fine. During the day I had two give up the ghost while I was using them.. they just stopped working. I couldn't verify for sure until I got home but I just threw 'em both on the meter and yep, they're dead. Maybe they *do* have a life expectancy, albeit a fairly long one...

p.s. I don't know about you guys, but everytime I lose one of these I strip it for parts. You never know when an extra mouthpiece or filler ring might come in handy.

That reminds me about the permanent metal inner cap.
Anyway, I don't think it has to do with a need for them to swell. I think they're actually too large and square, the rim needs to be rounded off a little.

br i noticed after like 25 minutes of hard vaping gunk builds up of coarse but instead of going through a cleaning i simply use the old method of a sewing needle and just stab the coil area alot and it does the trick for a little while.

I don't do that in the slot area. I leave it there for a better seal. I have not had a wicking problem because of it.

For the past few days I have stopped using the Rubber Sleeves when storing my CE2's, and they rarely leak now, even with a freshly filled carto. (I'm not using any mods)

So it appears that these carto's need to breath as the weather (pressure) changes. The Rubber Sleeves seem to cause a vacuum/suction problem where the juice enters the cup and causes gurgling.

The ceramic slots are the same width as the plastic ones. I think they need to stay just like they are, but my opinion does not amount to doodle squat.

No, Br, the cups leak by laying the ecig flat for a while, also with a lot of movement and hot weather.
While I have been somewhat more careful with the cartos, I still think the lipton fabric really helps, even when the ecig is flat horizontal. Dunno, maybe the silicone is not hydrophilic enough, to me the ptb acts like a good guard-dog at the slots

At the coils demand, the bag gives up the liquid with pleasure, but when the liquid tries to sneak into the slots without permission, the guard-dog takes it up quickly

Ok I'm setting up for definitive test (of sorts). 3 brand new 510 XL's, all 2.6ohm. I'm going to leave wicks and do PTB on one, cut wicks and do bad's PTB on another, and leave the third unaltered and fill with the syringe. Not a scientific sample or anything but it should be interesting.

I'm not going to mark them or anything. Just put them together, mix them up so I can't tell what's what, and start vaping.

Fortunately, I don't have much of a leakage problem and do not require anything additional.

Sounds like a good way of doing it to me.

I've been busy all day and haven't had my beauty rest. I'm outta here.

Im hoping Bads PTB-no-leaky-freaky-deaky- wickless - fulltail -monster-vapor-mod wins

I'm getting the primer fluid out of these now. Whatever this stuff is, it gives off a white smoke when it burns.

I won't have much to say about these until tomorrow, which gives you plenty of time to come up with a better mod name (lol).
