Went on vacation for a week. I see the entertainment value hasn't dropped one iota :) Haven't caught up yet but I'm looking forward to it.

As I said... you apparently don't understand basic electronics (Ohms Law). What you have said makes no technical sense.

I'm sure if we got bigger batteries all these guys would win Darwin awards.

all this mumbo jumbo, and for what, just vape man, just vape.lol

The intent of the mumbo jumbo was to find some objective measures ... which is to be avoided at all costs.

The actual switch adaptor probably has the battery protection circuit, where it cuts off charging above a certain voltage, and shuts the battery down below a low voltage, this pic shows the little circuit that's in the switch adaptors:
How can your famous switch adapter be famous if no one has ever made one? I already know most this stuff, John. I'm just picking at you, LOL.

nicotime, yeah i like that alot, ill send you my idea later, im almost done building it but its not functional, its just a prototype moc up. your coil design with my idea would make a instant hit.

yeah nico i was going to send you some regardless but i dont have that luxury now. if you would like 3 peaces ill give you from my last few ones with no issue.
the issue was a combo of wick ,slits and ohms, , so far the R4 at 3.0 and above work very well even with heavy back to back drags, these 2 808 xl at 3.0 and 3.1 are the best e2's ive had yet without modding and are performing just as good as the ptb modded r3's and they havent leaked, but i only tested 2 so far so further testing will be needed but i dont have uber amounts of the r4 so i cant go to crazy and i cant cut open to many this time aorund.

Thats ok bad...I didnt expect you to do anything...just not your problem to begin with and I do understand you was trying to help everyone. This guy just has no class!! I just wrote it down as a loss and a lesson!

If you got some with glue you don't want for 808d, I'll take them off your hands and pay for shipping as well. I'm desperate.

Sorry mk..I had the 510s...and I tossed the ones with glue gobs in them..

Am I understanding this correctly?

The new r4's that you received today, bad, are 808's and are working perfectly but there was stuff missing from the package that you received that was to be used in conjunction with the r4's? We do not know about the 510's yet?

No i recieved my order properly, for what i paid for, the returns for 1 member also came, there where samples sent, half of them wherent proper, left me with not many to give who where promised and non for a few others returns and none of my returns. Thats been fixed though for now.

the 510's work but more like the r3.5, the R4's so far are incredible.

And there is no leaking, even without a mod? Are the r4's, in your highly valued opinion, worth investing in?

no leaking, and a quick answer so far is yes, but for a true opinion i would wait till tomorow so i can open the rest and test them as well.

but so far i checked many and non had dents , none had primer and all had the proper ohms( off by a point higher or lower). and the ones im vaping are working extremly well(the R4).

So if I hear ya correctly... they are coming in at about 3 ohms?

The E2's you sent me I only fill at the most 1 time a day and they last all day. I'm using my bartleby most of the time and have no problem with burnt taste. The cart I'm using now has not been cleaned since I put the PTB mod to it 4 days ago and its still going very strong.

I will eventually need to clean one. How do you get the coil clean after boiling out the old juice? I understand dry burning, but access to the coil is limited.

Once the coil burns out on one of these I think I'm going to try the rebuild from here:

you need to remove the inner plug to get to the coil area, when you finish washing it you dry burn it without the inner plug and you can use a sewing neelde to fluff and clean it.

yeah they work good, just some had leaking with the revision i sent oyu but they work.

And the new seal around the stem and cup of the R4 seem to be doing the trick.

Hey guys just received my r4's from vaping.com th appear to b exactly the same as the 3.5's that I have no noticeable difference at all.. I gave vaping.com a phone call and the insisted that they are r4's for sure.... I was under the impression that they were supp to have filler around the cup to prevent the leaking... I haven't had a chance to vape these yet .. But wondering of there is something that I'm missing......Also there is no visible primer either

 nicotime that's a wonderful idea!

I don't understand why you put another strand of wick, that's the only thing, 'cause the coil taco needs to be larger if you do that.

So it seems that tweezers can open and close the taco the next time, and you can pull the wick out for cleaning or replacement, without having to undo the carto itself anymore!

I have been throwing away lots of cartos, but maybe I should start keeping them for parts, every cup, casing, connector, air stem, wick segments, inner caps, etc... can be useful parts

What kind of nichrome do you want? I have heard of 2 that WireTronic mentions, they're in Volcano, CA and they can even make custom wires the way you want, gold plated, platinum, you name it.

Wire Tronic link:
Litz Wire Nichrome Magnet Wire Ultra fine Magnet Wire Tungsten

___________

edit add: would it be good to try 2 prongs on one side and just one on the other instead of 2 and 3? I wonder if that would allow the taco to be larger and be able to reach around 2 strands of wick instead of 1.

I got mine today too and there was no visible filler and no visible primer. Although I hated to sacrifice a brand new atty to autopsy, I went ahead and pulled it apart. Sure enough, there was filler in it that I could not see prior to pulling out its innards. I also found a glob of silicon at the base of the stem (the glob really looks like hot glue, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt and call it "silicon"). The atty also had a middle silicon ring in addition to the filler ring. For some reason, I though R4 wasn't going to have the middle silicon ring, but maybe I dreamed that :)

I'm currently vaping the second one in the pack and don't plan to autopsy it unless I have a problem. It's vaping well, although if I take back-to-back drags, I do get a slight burnt taste - even when vaping on my LS on its lowest setting. Although I have no way to prove it, I can't help but wonder if the filler does more to hurt than help with wicking. <shrug> I've noticed very, very little leaking. I left it on its side for about an hour and when I came back, a small amount of liquid had oozed around the filler ring. I'm vaping without the middle ring installed and without a drip tip, so I really don't think the liquid I found was condensation.

My preliminary thoughts on the E2 R4 is thumbs up. I'll have a more comprehensive view after several more days of vaping on this atty and will let you all know my two cents :)
