Ive been vaping 2 R4 808 xl's at 3.0 and 3.1 ohms with NO PTB, just the way it came and im super happy. working like a charm

patty if there isnt a seal surrounding the whole bottom of the cup then its not a r4, if there is glue at the base then its not a r4 as well.

I don't understand why you put another strand of wick, that's the only thing, 'cause the coil taco needs to be larger if you do that.
I put an extra strand to seal up the gap in the cup...works for non-modded e2'S too. Doesnt matter if all the wick doesnt touch the coil...it still helps feed it.

So it seems that tweezers can open and close the taco the next time, and you can pull the wick out for cleaning or replacement, without having to undo the carto itself anymore!

I have been throwing away lots of cartos, but maybe I should start keeping them for parts, every cup, casing, connector, air stem, wick segments, inner caps, etc... can be useful parts

What kind of nichrome do you want? I have heard of 2 that WireTronic mentions, they're in Volcano, CA and they can even make custom wires the way you want, gold plated, platinum, you name it.

edit add: would it be good to try 2 prongs on one side and just one on the other instead of 2 and 3? I wonder if that would allow the taco to be larger and be able to reach around 2 strands of wick instead of 1.

I just used the original coil..pull it up..straighten it...then form the taco...I will be doing it with 30awg soon as the coil needs to be stiffer. I just did this one to see how it works.

Yes, I meant if you use 2 wicks, then the taco may need to be a little bigger, like this idea mod (of your idea):
But if the secondary wick doesn't need to touch the coil then that's fine too.

What gauge is the one in the carto now, by the way, maybe 40?

Patty, yeah, it doesn't sound like you got the r4, and now it's hard to tell which suppliers have them for real.
Awesome Vapor stated that they had the R4 earlier today, but it's hard to tell now.

the 808XL is not available and the 510XL is almost $2 more in stainess steel

Sorry for the bad pic, bad. There is a black seal that looks like shrink wrap around the bottom of the cup and the top part of the stem. The glob of silicon or glue stuff is below the black seal.

they keep shipping putty, wick, and even filler sometimes

yes thats not the r4, thats the .......ised stuff fishjuice recieved as well, i got some of those as well, thats the pre r4 beta. the real r4 has no glue or silicone and the black sleeve goes way over the cup and not only on the stem of the cup.

that my dear is what we call a r3.75 lol

I've been running the CE2 R3's, Reg & XL's for a couple of days on and off, I am NOT impressed what so ever with these, been vaping for a long time too, I have the R4's on order direct from the factory and they will ship after the Chinese Holiday, I hope they are better then the 3's. I get more vapor and flavor from LR510 Reg cartos so far, somebody tell me these R4's are way better please

if oyur not getting huge vapor then yeah your doing somehting wrong.

are you adding 1.8 m of juice to the xl, and have you tried without the inner plugs.

I have added the correct amount of juice in the reg and the XL, However I have not removed the first silicone piece, the small one on the top, why should that matter.?

it just does man, lol trust me, and you might want to ptb it, watch my videos below in the link, i have a ptb video, the r4 is much better so far, vaping it for hours now with no issues.

Sounds like the 510's are really r3.75. Too bad they sent those out. Glad to hear the 808 r4 is holding up but they need to stop sending the frankenstein's out.

so far im impressed more so then any other revisions, this so far was no muss no fuss, a quick 5 second dry burn for the sake of it, filled with juice and vaped, hasnt fouled up once, hasnt dry spotted yet.
again on only 2 so far, i dont have many so i dont have ability to go buck wild.

in the past some i would get the dry taste after while or leaks or other issues, there was so many chances for 1 or 2 or more issues to creep in and while the ptb fixes many of those issues thats not what people need, its cool they can mod a e2 and make it awsome it would be better for the e-cig community for it to be a fill and vape product, i hope everyone can agree on that, it shouldnt be a hassle. They should work as intended with the option to ptb it if want to make it extreme.

So , so far this is meeting that criteria for me, i havent modded them and just filled them and even though i REALLY LOVE THE PTB tail method, just because it turns the e2 into a BEAST, that isnt truly needed.
These are performing as they should and i havent had a moment yet that i went hmmm, something is off, i never got any girgling and i filled it to the brim.
I did get that dry hot taste once but again i was using the variable and i was at 4.4 or so. and was back to back vaping.


This is only the 808xl 3.0 and 3.1 ohm R4.
on a side note, using the new vgo 1300 mah or the 650 mah vgo, i can take a 1 second flat drag and fill my screen basicly.

well the 510 i got today wasnt r4, the sleeve wasnt around the whole cup, that isnt the full r4., so check to see if you can.

yeah, i got 3 - 510 vgo's 1300mah kits and 1 spare 808 1300mah batt but the 510 vgo works exactly the same with a 510/808 adapter

Wow, that is a lot of vapor w/ short draws. That new Vgo looks sweet, have you tested it under load at 3.7v?
