I have two dripper pros but I thought the xc-116 won't work with the ceramics? Isn't it to thick? If it would fit I would love to try it.

I'm thinking the XC116 may be too stiff to work with the ceramics, i.e., it's only flexible to a certain radius. When silica gets saturated with e-liquid, it turns clear and looses it's shape, kinda like cotton. I just wicked my AL-1 genesis atty with XC116 for the first time in over a month and it's just as non-pliable as when it's dry. :(

If the hemp doesn't work when I finally decide to rebuild a coil, I may try ekowool; I can't stand dry hits on silica.

There's an eBaron in the classifieds - oh, wait NO THERE ISN'T, 'cause I bought it.
:)

I had a nightmare yesterday building a coil for my first dripper.
I confirmed that I HATE building coils, but also that dripping does have some appeal, and might work for me when I'm at home...
So when I saw the Dripper Pro in the classifieds, I just jumped on it.

I think that I read that techno use's that stuff for these, and just cuts the wick short, not sure naybe it was on the sophia, but it use's the same coil's.

I'm going to do what I can to get it to work. I have XC-116 in my other drippers and won't ever go back if I don't have to. :)

You guys are tempting me to buy some xc-116 and try in my drippers. I've heard so much good stuff about it. What about the thickness of it though? I thought it was to wide for the slit in the ceramic cups. I wonder if using a coil made with xc-116 and leaving the coil sitting up above the top of the ceramic cup would work. I'm so tempted to try this.

XC-116 is better than silica, but still doesn't quite reach cotton. Still, it's worth spending however much it costs for 3ft just to try it out! Honestly, I'm amazed that it can even wick; it's gotta be the hollow "core" of the thread.

See, I switched from organic cotton to XC-116 because cotton needed to be changed so often, gunked up quickly, and tended to burn. I chain-vape all day working from home so cotton couldn't handle that. :) And if I waited too long to change it, it irritated my lungs.

With the XC-116 I build the coil (in a normal decked dripper) just big enough so the coil can slide freely but still make contact. About 1.5-2" of XC-116 gets threaded through, half gets tucked under the coil and the other goes up and across the posts to the other side. When I want to clean it, I slide it over until it's almost even with the coil, then torch the long side clean. Dry burn the coil, slide the wick the other way, and torch the other end clean, then put everything back in place. I only have to do it every other day or so at most and the wick looks and tastes brand new when done. I love the stuff!

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I'm just not getting the same flavor out of the XC-116 as I am out of cotton. That's a big reason why I procured some hemp. I've just been way too lazy to prep said hemp, LOL!

On another note: my tracking number isn't showing up on FEDEX's tracking site! :(

Maybe you're missing the cotton taste? :)

My package got to the facility too late to be dispatched for the estimated 10:30AM delivery, but it's on a truck now so I'm just trying to be patient.

It's here! Other than a little sharp piece that needs to be filed off over one of the air holes, it's cool. The coil installed in it is 1.9 and at 4.0V the vapor is really warm, which I didn't expect. I do think the XC-116 is going to be too big for it, which makes me a sad panda. If I knew someone with a kiln I'd buy some XC-132 and have them fire it for me. Still, so far, so good, the flavor and vapor are really awesome. :) With my drip tip on it's like 3 miles long.

I'm a dedicated dripper and this is WAY better than the other ones I've used (Forge clone, Nimbus clone, Patriot clone, and IGO-W). I really like when the barrel is narrower than when it's wide; the flavor gets much more concentrated. Having the coil centered in the barrel instead of off to one side is making a huge difference.

A friend might know someone who's selling another one used and I think I'm going to tell him I want it. You know, 'cause one of anything is never enough. :p

That is interesting, I did not know there was any thing other then the xc-116, where would you get the xc-132 from?

Unless you can find a vape supplier that's already heat treating it, you'd have to get it from an industrial supplier and kiln it yourself, I guess. It's 1/32" instead of 1/16th. :)
