thats really hard to believe that this caused the detonation that she has explained. Me being in the bomb squad may think she is exaggerating but damn in a way i find it comical
You have to wonder how long did she leave it charging and was it a passive ecig.
She also said it shock the house yet it dosn't look to bad.
Yet I see her computer is OK!
Might even be a setup she could be looking for attention or something.
The guy she bought it from said he dose not sell that one anymore and was willing to give her a free unit.
First thing you learn never leave a unit charging with being there to watch it.
Elizabeth Wilkowski, of Atlanta, plugged the Chinese-made eHit electronic cigarette into her computer to charge it up before use.

Vapor cigarettes sold under the eHit brand are manufactured by Shenzhen Seego Technology Co. LTD, based out of Shenzhen, China.
The company unveiled the eHit model earlier this year, boasting on its website that the device is 'using the best raw materials and craft for whole product, which is more and more popular in the market.’
It was played on my local ABC station tonight too. It was a knockoff ego battery, so it doesn't surprise me. Battery had a name on it but I forgot what it was.

I am sorry this woman had to experience this. I wonder how many of these events are caused by the user modifying the product or using the wrong batteries. It would be interesting to know the cause of those in the past. It was on our local news tonight and could not have been worse timing.

A few years ago I had a 510 gas out because I put it on a wrong usb charger. The damage I had looks the same what she has. By the way, the usb port still worked.
Didn't send that last line at first, but now I have, edited it a little:
A few years ago I had a 510 gas out because I put it on a wrong usb charger. My mistake. The damage I had looks the same what she has. It didn't go KABOOM, it went more like fsjttsss fffrt. And then some hot sparks. Nevertheless, I was glad I was there. By the way, the usb port still worked.
A wet wash rag?! I once used a potholder that I didn't realize had become wet. That taught me a painful lesson: wet cloth conducts heat much more effectively than dry cloth. (Ouch!)
Joyetech egos have some of the safest technology going, you would have to try pretty hard to blow one up. How they do it is proprietary though, and I doubt very much the clones have what Joyetech has.
I have never used clones and my original joyetechs still running great after a year.......doesn't pay for me to save $3 buying clones
