Were you able to completely stop smoking cigarettes since using your ecig?

If yes:

1. How long have you been cigarette free?
2. Have you tried to quit cigarettes before via Gum, Patches, Cold Turkey, etc?
3. Do you think you will be able to remain cigarette-free permanently this time around?

If no:

The FDA doesn't seem to think Ecigs are safe/effective/worth it, so maybe some of their non toxic gum or patches may work for you - godspeed.

Protecting Public Health Through Safe and Effective Treatments
By Dr. Lawrence R. Deyton, M.S.P.H, M.D., Director of the Center for tobacco Products at the FDA.
Thank you for signing the petition "Recognize electronic cigarettes as an effective alternative to smoking and support job creation in this new industry."
E-cigarettes may contain ingredients that are known to be toxic to humans or otherwise harm public health -- for example, if they are attractive to young people and lead kids to try other tobacco products, including conventional cigarettes, which are known to cause disease and lead to premature death. Because clinical studies of these products have not been submitted to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), consumers currently have no way of knowing what types or concentrations of potentially harmful chemicals are found in these products, or how much nicotine people inhale when they use these products.
FDA is taking steps, as authorized by the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act, to include electronic cigarettes under the agency's regulatory authority.
However, in light of the lack of validated scientific data, including a lack of reliable indicators of nicotine and harmful chemical content, FDA cannot at this time conclude that electronic cigarettes are an effective alternative to smoking...blahblahblah

Yes!! I have been able to completely stop smoking by using e-cigs. And Yes!! I have tried to quit smoking many, many times in the past. I was a one to one and half pack a day smoker for 46 years. I had by-pass heart surgery, and still continued to smoke, even though I knew that it was potentially lethal. I wanted to quit, but as the Apostle Paul said, "the spirit was willing, but the flesh was weak." I have now been completely smoke free for almost 15 months. The longest that I ever went without a cigarette in the past was two weeks. I am living proof that it does work, at least for me.

If yes: YES

1. How long have you been cigarette free?

Around 9 months, long enough to know that smoking is something that is in my past.

2. Have you tried to quit cigarettes before via Gum, Patches, Cold Turkey, etc?

No, because I accidently quit smoking when I started vaping, I started vaping with the hope that I could at least reduce my tobacco consumption, I reduced it alright, by 100%. I had however investigated other methods prior, none of them appealed enough for me too take it any further.

3. Do you think you will be able to remain cigarette-free permanently this time around.

With no doubt, however if e-cigs were no longer an option I don't have a definite answer.

I really do believe that I will stay cigarette free permanently. E-cigs have changed my life completely, I don't what i would do if they ever went away.

Yes, no analog smokes for almost a year.
As long as e-cigs and juice are reasonable available, that will be what I'm doing.

From my understanding, those gums and patches were more toxic then e-liquid. Don't have data sheets on all of it to be sure.
90% of the smokes I know are like me, they still smokes even while wearing the patch, or with the gum in thier mouths. Those things aren't really efective.

1. Lookie at my banner! Red & Black... sexy colors. Close to 100 days now! wow! 3 months. No way, yes way. :)
2. I didn't try gum, patches, because nicotine wasn't my issue so much as habit was. Tried cold turkey, couldn't do it. I become a nutty bunny too quick. I have found nicotine helps my A.D.D. tremendously when driving!! You couldn't pay me enough $ to even try Chantix.
3. Absolutely. Willing to go nicotine free if push comes to shove. BP & BT will NEVER see my money again. Over my dead body, so help me, god willing, should I stay in good health, don't have health insurance anyways.

1. How long have you been cigarette free?

Completely cigarette free since April 2011. (I was cigartette free at the end of August 2010, had a relapse in November, came completely back in April. The relapse was the result of bad juice and a lingering lack of understanding of what was going on with me that made me relapse.)

2. Have you tried to quit cigarettes before via Gum, Patches, Cold Turkey, etc?

Yes, yes, and yes. All were spectacular failures. Only thing I didn't try (aside from slightly more "out there" efforts like acupuncture and the like) was Chantix, and that was mainly because I don't enjoy manic depression very much.

3. Do you think you will be able to remain cigarette-free permanently this time around?

Absolutely. Now that I know much better what my limitations are, how it effects me, have found good hardware and good juices, I have neither reason nor desire to go back.
