I'm currently using ego twists. I have 3 of them, and i really like them. But sooner or later i want a provari. But I'm not sure why.

Is it just the features the provari offers that make it so popular, or is the vapor different?

Is the vapor more intense, or thicker? Does it punch you in the back of the throat so hard that your eyes bug out?

I guess what in wondering is, if i buy a provari, am i paying for features, or vapor quality?

Not to sound like a member of the Church of the ProVari but I noticed a difference in vapor prodcution when I switched from Twists to a ProVari. The TH is not harder but the vapor is thicker. I also feel, through my own experimentation, that the voltage readings on the ProVari are more accurate. I was using my Twists at 4V on a Nova and that same juice, head and tank gave me a burnt flavor at 4V on my ProVari.

I bought it for durability, quality and the fact that it is made in the USA.

I now await being flamed and grouped with the ProVari cultists.

I have a handful of ego twists and they all found their way to the backup pile shortly after my Provari arrived. I can't say exactly what is better about the Provari but it's just so much more satisfying than the ego twist. Do yourself a favor and every time you want to buy a new ego-style battery, save the 20-30 bucks and soon enough you will have the funds for the Provari.

Well, I went from a Provari, to a Twist. I have 5 twists.
I like the form factor of the twist, I didnt like the weight or thickness of a Provari (which is now relegated as my expensive ohmmeter, & hasnt been used for vaping since the twist came out in 4/2012).

I didnt see any difference in vapor or taste between the two. But, I only vape6 mg/mL on 2.9 ohm coils with 3.7 to 4 volts. If you need more than that, then you need a Provari, probably.
To each his own.

I'm hanging onto the Provari, in case the FDA wants to stop any mods built after 2007, then I'll probably need it again.

on an oscilloscope the joyetech twist batteries meter very well, and the vape wouldn't be that different.
Although as the battery dies on the twist the performance degrades. (happens with everything)
So if your going to get a twist, and you want a comparable vape to a provari, you want 1000+ mAh.

As far as vape quality differences, they aren't noticeable for the most part.
However, you cannot go above 4.8 volts on the twist batteries, where-as you have up to 6v on the provari.
The provari might have a smoother regulated pulse width modulation wave compared to the twist.
This simply means that the hit is going to be consistent throughout, rather than waving up and down.
Which simply means that your getting the most out of every millisecond the button is pressed down.
Really not a noticeable difference in my opinion. I own both, but I haven't really done a comprehensive comparison.

I like both a lot, but the build quality of the provari is obviously shoots and ladders above the twist/spinner.
And some of the more experienced reviewers say they do prefer the provari.
One of the reviewers that I look up to, Pbusardo, I believe he liked the twist/spinner batteries quite a bit.
And he has the scopes and knowledge to test them. So I trust his opinion on their being good vapes.

A twist/spinner battery isn't a quarter of the cost of a provari, but they won't last more than 2 years.
they have internal batteries, which are usually rated to last just around 1 year at the most.

I've never owned an eGo battery. But compared to my other mods, mechanical and variable voltage, the difference of the Provari is it's consistancy from the beginning of a fresh battery until the Provari let's me know that the battery needs to be replace (blinking fire button). The vape experience is the same from start to finish. It's all because of the Provari's trademarked Accuset Technology softwired into its processor. It continuously monitors the battery drop in voltage and makes the necessary power boost to keep the voltage precisely where the user originally set it.

And the user set voltage is what you get, all the time. My other variable voltage mods have PWM, but they deliver up to 1 volt higher than what I set.

And of course there are the workmanship and durability factors, and Provape's dependability to service any issues that might happen even AFTER the warranty.

I envision to still be vaping on my Provari 5 years from now. I sincerely believe it's that well built and durable. I don't know how many eGo Twists will need to be bought in that time period to give an economic comparison, but I liken my Provari and $10 replacement batteries once a year over needing to continually purchase multiple new $25 eGo replacements every six months.

I vape two-fisted with a Twist and a ProVari. I like them both, but I feel safer with the ProVari. If attacked by an intruder the ProVari would make a superior weapon.

Lol

I think twists are great for what they are...a vari-volt stick battery. They drop a bit under load but all in all it's still a good vape and a good intro to vv.

I vape two fisted with a provari and a G16 or Temon. If attacked by an intruder one of my guns would make a superior weapon.

Ummm...you would have to put down one of your mods to pick up a gun...

I have 4 twists and a Provari (and another on the way)... I like them both for different reasons.
In terms of getting the best vaping experience, there's no contest, the Provari wins hands down. The twist simply cannot deliver the amperage that the Provari can.

But... The Provari is heavy, it can be a pain in the ... to make quick adjustment and it tends to draw attention. I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't always feel like having an e cig conversation with a complete stranger...

The vape off the twist is good. Its easy to make voltage adjustment, it's very portable and if you kill one there's no need to shed tears or have a day of mourning.

They are both worth having, they both have advantages and disadvantages and in my experience they compliment each other.

Just my 2 cents...
