I had a problem on my Windows 7 computer that let me save the files, but when I'd go to the folder in windows to copy them to my other computer, the folder couldn't be accessed or was empty (can't remember which); but if I went into the program I could still access the recipes. Ended up being some sort of giving the program privileges to change files on my computer, but it still didn't show the recipes I'd entered, so I had to go save them over again once I gave it the correct permissions. I also saved them into a folder that I'd created through the windows browser instead of when I was in the program saving the file.

Try right clicking on the folder icon that you're saving to and check the permissions, and right click on the program icons and check the permissions there. There should be an option to allow the program to have read/write options.

Well, that is apparently the problem. The allow permissions are checked allow, but are grayed out. The only one I could change is the interactive settings, but I can't figure out how to enable the system privileges which is apparently stopping me from saving files to the e-juice program. What doesn't make sense though is even with the allow check box grayed out for read files, I can still open and see the saved recipes that came with e-juice.

Sounds like you are discussing the e-juice me up calculator. This is not that program as when you click the save recipe it just copies what you have in the fields to the recipie sheet. Sooooo Sorry not my program, please post these questions on the e-juice me up web site.
Thanks
Dan

I have a question, can the program be changed to reflect VG based nic juice? I make my juice at 20-30PG but when I go to enter everything in the cost calculator area certain nic levels just say not possible because it only figures for PG nic.

I dont know how to alter this but sure would love to be able to use it for my own calculating =)

thanks!

I am playing with the spreadsheet, thanks Dan for an incredible amount of work! I understand it has evolved a lot. I have a complete square one question in it's terminology, for mixing nic.

I am getting confused by the nic cells being labeled both % and mg. I have 100 mg/ml nic, I understand that it is also referenced as 10% nic. I want to wind up with 80/20 pg/vg, or thereabouts.

D7 says "base nic %". The mouseover in E7 says "Enter your starting nicotine %". That's all good, my base is 10% nic. I am puzzled by the cell F7 that says mg.

The instruction tab on step 4 references this by mg (I am assuming mg/ml).

Cells D6 through F8 have the same descriptions, everything else seems very clear.

Should I be entering 10 (for my 10% nic) or 100 (for my 100 mg/ml nic). Likewise for my target nic, should I enter 2.4 for percentage, or 24 for mg/ml?

I'm half tempted to check out a few more of spreadsheets and programs and try to make one that runs on Libre Office/Open Office. Will also be a nice exercise in programming one in C#.

I know I saw one on line somewhere that let you plug in the prices of the supplies and have you a cost run down, which I thought was nice. Maybe add a "tracking feature" to see how much experimenting with a new flavor blend cost.

I made a spreadsheet in open office, 1 sheet is the standard nic calculator and the second sheet is for mixing ready made juices to get another nic level. It can be downloaded from here: http://fupdup.com/e-juicecalculator.xls

I saved it as an xls file because openoffice works with it as does the popular M$ product, but MS seems to have a problem with ods files.

Great job Scuba, very useful!

I have some FA Butterscotch flavoring. FA tends to be honest (or at least they seem to be honest to me) with the information they are providing on their products and they do not say anything on their site about diacetyl content. Whereas you say: "FlavourArt-Butterscotch flavour-Reported to have trace amounts of diacetyl "
Who's right?

They openly say which of their flavours contain diacetyl on their web site. Butterscotch is not one of them. Aromi dolci
