Help Please !
I'm using ver 13. I am trying to mix "any flavor" that is PG based with my 60 mg Nicotine juice. I want a ratio of 70 PG to 30 VG. The end result should be 36 mg.
In the top I put 100 PG, 0 VG because my nic juice is not cut with VG so I assume it is 100 % pg. I was told this was correct.
In the MG box I put 60.
My target strength needs to be 36 mg. (This is for times when 24 doesn't cut it.)
Amount to make, 1 ML ( I make 1, 2 or 3 ml's at a time to see how I like em before making larger batches.)
Flavoring: 100% PG because it's not cut with any VG, just like the nic juice and the % is 20 because I like strong flavor.
Added PG is 70 and VG is 30 - This is my vaping preference.
Hit Calculate and get an error: "You need to add more PG, cannot use negative numbers as shown. Recalculate."
The negative numbers in question are my personal preference of PG. They are: -0.2 for ML -4 for drops and -10 for % of Total. That's just silly. I am only asking the calculator to split up my stuff in the proper proportions, not asking it to subtract anything.
WTF?
Now if I were doing the exact same recipe but 24 strength up to 28 strength, it would work fine, but at 36 target strength I get this error.
I am Not putting in any negative numbers, the calculator is calculating a negative number. This tells me there is a serious problem with the math concepts this calculator is using.
I kinda do know why it does this. It takes the total % from the PG from the Nic juice and the total % from my added PG then tries to use this to do it's calculations.
Excuse me but.. Who is this calculator to tell me I don't gave enough PG? I have tons of PG ! There is not any way to add more PG unless I change my personal preference to something like 80 PG/20 VG. I should not have to do this.
This calculator Must have a built in safety method for cutting you off if it thinks your nicotine juice to pg and or vg base ratio is too low. In other words these end results would seem to make my base nic look like it has much lower nic to PG ratio than it really does - it can't have.. it's shipped with a fixed amount, plus I am adding PG, VG and flavoring that has PG. It's like if you add too much Nicotine in MG content, it throws the PG off. It should not do this. I should be able to tell it to use 100 MG of straight nicotine If I wanted to and still get my correct 70 Pg to 30 Vg ratio. I tell you it's doing something screwy with the math, I just know it.
What ever it's doing, I need to bypass that.
Any ideas?
What I really want instead of a calculator is a reference chart with variables down and across. This would even be portable for when you don't have a computer and don't want to deal with screwy math. I've seen the math. wont use it, it's rubbish.
Anyone know where I can find such a reference chart?
What about a rule of thumb? Something like,
" If you have a 24 mg End Result recipe you need to add x amount of drops of the base nic juice and perhaps x amount of VG to make up for the extra PG - to make it 36 MG to keep your desired PG to VG ratio correct and if you go over so many drops it will change your flavor so add x amount of drops of flavor to compensate, yada yada yada"
( This is why I failed Algebra and walked out of the class telling the teacher to Shove it. ( yes I did.) She gave me a formula that I could do.. I could solve the equation but not understand WHY. I could have passed the class and just did all the stupid equations without ever having to know Why, but that's not me so I asked. She said " what ever you do to one side you have to do to the other side too" (She was the most top rated teacher in the school.) I asked her Why, Why do you have to make both sides balance? I needed to understand why. She could not answer me, so I left. I was not going to sit there and do the work and even get A's if she could not explain it to me the way I needed her to. Been a Rebel ever since. Thank god that was the end of math torture forever. My life has been Bliss without it.)
