Which is why I will probably never sell my ProVari--even though I rarely use it nowadays. Everything else is iffy... I prefer those cute box mods with internal batteries because they are so convenient. No need to buy extra batteries, no need for an extra charger. Plug and play.

I never bought a ProVari, but have enough mechs for backup, until I would be able to build my own replacements.

The 510 threads, tanks, O-rings, and drip tips would fail before my power supplies or nic ran out...:2cool:

Well mods that have replaceable batteries typically come with a higher price tag after buying a set of decent batteries.

Is there any reason why you shouldn't be charging batteries in a mod, rather than getting a separate charger? The separate charger thing I could never do, that's why a lot of these mods are off the table for me.

My 30w istick is still is pretty good shape, and the battery holds a decent charge after about 6 months. I figure by the time it's dead, there will be newer stuff out there, or my mod will show enough wear that I would want a new one anyways.

I lost between 1/3 and 1/2 of my battery between noon yesterday and my drive to work this morning. That's pretty decent right? I'm a low wattage vaper. Typically charge every day at some point.

@aznnp77 your battery like seems about average for low wattage use. For their price, a backup is affordable and easy to carry. Figuring a $30 price for the stick, after 6 months you're spending a bit over 16 cents a day. A single cigarette was costing me twice that...

Re: charging batteries, it's better to charge 18650s outside of a mod, as if something goes wrong it's visible and any venting isn't confined to a small space (what makes a bomb work)

Thanks. I had a feeling it was safer to to charge separately, but that's such a hassle. When I first started vaping last year, all the regulated mods needed separate batteries and chargers. That's part of the reason why I got an iTaste MVP and help onto my ego twists for so long.

Original iStick came along, and despite it's pitfalls, it worked great for me.

I have 3 Provari's including a P3. I haven't used any of them for months. My go to devices now are 2 iStick 30's and 2 eGrip OLED'S. I truly believe the days of the huge tube mod are over.

I have 20W/30W iSticks in all 4 colors.
To me...the "pink" (looks purple to my eyes) is the most beautiful one.
Whenever I head out the door I most often take the pink one with me. It gets many complements and is a real "conversation starter".
(I am a GUY.)
iStick 30W by Eleaf $19.99 - $24.99 - Box MOD / 20W +

I tried purchasing a pink one, but they don't ship to addresses that are different than the billing address. That little fact leaves me out of the loop to get one from them. (ie, billing and shipping addresses must be the same for them, "to make the purchase more secure" they say...) We're retired, fulltime RVers, currently in AZ, our main base is our mail forwarding service in So.Dak. and that is considered by us our billing address. So, that great little deal was, in our book, not such a great little deal. just saying....
In our 15 yrs of being fulltime RVers this is the first vendor/seller of things we've run into this problem with - I think it's more of a programmer not knowing how to work our situation into their 'billing/paying for the item' part of their checkout system..... who knows, but I left them a message that they lost out on my purchase because of this problem of theirs. IF they care to know.... haha no reply from them since.

I got 3 of them from Rocky Mountain Vapor for $27.75 shipped. They're running a 25% off coupon right now. Highly recommend them! Great customer service and shipped fast!

User coupon code "summer15" to get the price.

Eleaf iStick 40W TC Starter Kit - $37.00 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes

Thanks aznnp77 I thank I will follow your lead and get one from Rocky Mountain, do you know if they have a 30 or 90 day warranty from Eleaf? I bought my 30 watt from them last year

I am going to Italy and a few other euro places next week for a couple of months, and figured its better to get it now before I go

I wouldn't know. I'm fortunate enough to have three perfectly functioning iSticks and have never had to worry about a warranty claim :)
