Eleaf iStick : part 2

I'm going through a clumsy stage this week, first my GS Air M on a round Aspire CF battery rolled out of my truck and hit the ground, cracking the glass - first broken tank in a year of vaping. Then dropped two isticks 30W with my naugty minis hit the ground over the weekend, fortunately landed on their sides, and the tanks didn't break. Then today knocked one of them off the bathroom sink while filling the other, and guess where it landed.. that's right, the toilet. lol. Fortunately it had been recently flushed and a quick hand dive rescued it. Immediately washed off the outside of everything and continued vaping. Just kidding, haha. I emptied the tank, washed it put in a new coil and juice and good as new. Again, nothing broke. I vouch for the istick and naughy mini sturdiness

I thought my 20W iStick might have died today; IT WOULD NOT FIRE THIS MORNING
When I push the button I get nothing; no illuminated display and no out put to the coil
but when I plug it in I get a strange looking illuminated column like I have never seen before
really strange, somehow it turned out it had shut itself off, it took awhile to figure out, because I DID NOT SHUT IT OFF
It is less than a year old
i have ALWAYS been careful with it, it has the flip adapter that protects the pin and the tread known problems, but I have dropped it a few times in the past and it still worked fine
its been sometime since the last time I dropped it, and today when i first pushed the button to use it I get nada
To make a long story short, I finally tried clicking the fire button 5 times TO TURN IT OFF FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!
INSTEAD IT TURNED ON, AND STARTED WORKING again normally Y A H OO!!!

and almost checked out

Ordered Evic Mini from efun on Wednesday. Saw post on Thursday that TC40W was on clearance at Angelcigs for $19.99 (plus $5 ship). Ordered it using Paypal guest checkout.
Tried to cancel efun order, they said it shipped. Not too long after got tracking number. Arrived on Saturday. Tried to cancel with Angelcigs, they said Friday it already shipped. No tracking number so I sent email Saturday asking for it.
Just now I get the email from Angelcigs with tracking, shipped from California. Checked it and status is "Shipping Label Created" with today's date. This might be my last order with AC, I feel they could have canceled my order on Friday.

You might as well keep the iStick if your VTC mini doesn't work right in TC mode. At least then you will have something that works in TC.
Yeah, I picked up the Evic Mini because of all the glowing comments, then dug deeper and read about it's shortcomings so I ordered the iStick. Then I read how the TC40w was OK but not great.
Hindsight I should have just stuck with my Kbox 40w, it pairs great with my Subtank Mini v2. No dry hits and does just as good as the Evic @ 25 watts non-TC.
At least if I would have went with the iStick 100w I would get more battery life.

I'm still looking for a smallish box mod with replaceable battery--TC optional, I don't really use it. I like the IPV D2, but read somewhere that the finish is bad and the paint is chipping/coming off, not sure which. Did you experience this?
I've narrowed by short list to Kbox mini (if they ever fix that pin), IPV D2 and Cloupor mini+.
Any thoughts/suggestions?

Actually the eVic VTC Mini is a gorgeous little VW device that works very well in that mode. The only thing I didn't like was the TC not working properly and that is what I got it for.
The paint seems better on the IPV D2 than on previous versions but time will tell. The IPV D2 has no stepdown so if you put a 0.2 ohm coil in and try to use it at 7W it's output is 3.6V so you are going to get 65W on that coil. I really don't know anyone that would try to use a 0.2 coil at 7W anyway but there are other combos that will not get you your desired wattage. As long as you keep the output above 3.6V you will get your desired wattage so this is not a tootle puffers mod.
The Cloupor Mini Plus has stepdown so I'm told but I have no experience with it.
Like gerrymi posted above, for $29 you really can't go wrong with the VTC mini as a VW device.
