Just read on a German board how it's done - how to enable Ti-Mode on iStick40:
* Turn device off (5 click)
* Hold Up+Fire-Button for ~20 seconds
* "Ti On" will flash on the display

Done. You can now choose "Ni", "Ti" or "VW" by pressing the middle button.

PS: The procedure can be reversed. "Ti Off" will flash and TI-mode is gone.
Yup. Worked for me too! :)

Thanks for the tip!

Well, it looks like my 2 original istick 20w's are starting to fail. Seems that the center pin got pushed down too far and getting the dreaded "no atomizer" message. Let's have a moment of silence to mourn their passing.:(

Awww bless their little cotton socks,

have you tried using a small flat headed screwdriver to pull the pins up a bit, did that on my wife's istick 20w and still working fine even though it is now a back up for her as she has a 30w

Thanks leekeylee. I tried using tweezers, but not much success. I'll try the screwdriver and see if I have better luck. If I can get them pulled back up a little, I can put the hinged adapter on them to keep from pushing the pins down again. I'll give it a try and see what happens, so thanks for the suggestion!

Edited to add: the 30W is my favorite anyway, but would like to salvage these 20w sticks for backups if I can.

Using a flat headed screwdriver I found the easiest way was gently prise up one side then do the same on the opposite side.

I have been a great fan of the iSticks, but my 30w has started showing signs that the internal battery is getting near the end of it's life so I have just purchased the Joytech vtc mini as it has replaceable batteries and this is so far working great and I find a smoother vape than the isticks i own (20w/30w/40w/50w). Also has the plus of Temperature control if I want to start playing with that and up to 75w now I have upgraded the firmware to the latest version.

I have a couple of iStick 20s that threatened to "die" on me (they were used...given to me by a friend). I have kept both going by using a stout safety pin (a big one like a diaper pin) and using the pin tip to gently ease the center pin up, bit by bit all the way around. Worked great. Now I keep a Smok AFC on them both to protect them. (they were given to me with the AFCs on...but silly me took them off).

I saved one with one of these

Of course, it takes some tools and soldering.

Oh well, those are both skills I don't have.
It's probably not worth doing anyway. The battery is probably getting old and the new iSticks are fairly inexpensive and better than the 20w. The one I fixed was fairly new.

Me too, this one was only 4 months old and one of the first to arrive in Nova Scotia last year. Still going strong and works like a charm. FDV to the rescue! ;)

I agree. I prefer the 30w anyway. One may be somewhat salvageable, but the other is toast.

I remember that from part 1 of this thread. Some good work there.

It is sad. Lost my first 20w in a drowning accident. It is still here as if I expect it to spring back to life.

Aluminum nail file will lift the 510 pin. Slip the pointed end between the wall and the pin then lift at an angle. Go round and round a few times until it gets where you need it.

Oh, no! No atomizer message is no reason to discard an iStick! It may just be a connectivity problem--quite simple to remedy, really.

1) Raise the pin just a hair, like others have described.

2) Get a few of those magic spacers--you just drop one into your mod's 510 well and problem solved--connectivity magically restored.

3) Get a simple and inexpensive AFC adapter and use it. I have one permanently situated on my iStick 20 and it's been wonderful--it stabilizes the connection and protects the soft threads from stripping:
