Eleaf iStick : part 2

The istick will always get a thumbs up. The original formula was a good one. Cheap, very small, pretty good battery life with USB charging. The stainless steel threading, and spring loaded 510 pin made the 30w the perfect mod.

I took another look at the battery in the video, tried googling some of the numbers. When I googled "6.85wh," the search results come back with a bunch of 1850mah batteries.

If this is the case, I'm going to be very disappointed. Not sure how they thought they could get away with downgrading the iStick 30w battery, yet listing it as 400mah higher.

I think there may be some LiPo wizardry going on here - akin to the minor kerfluffle caused by the 3 x 1500 LiPo batteries in the eVic VT. I can't believe that eLeaf would destroy the reputation they're building by pulling a bait and switch.

Further, I am getting 24 solid hours out of the device (I somehow ended up with 2 of them). It's comparable to the time I got out of my iStick 20 running a 2.1 ohm coil at roughly 9 watts...

You could be right...
For the battery testing I've done, that 6.85Wh LiPo rating puts the 40W's battery capacity in the 2400-2500mAh range. But since watt-hours are volt-amp-hours, if the running voltage of that LiPo is lower or flatter than the IMR batteries I've tested then the capacity could be higher than 2400-2500mAh.

I'm not worried about eleaf's batteries. If they are anywhere in the neighborhood of 2000 mah it will last me about a full day or more.

Used to get through a full work day with two 650 mah eGo batteries. Multiple 2000 mah batteries will last me until I'm somewhere I can charge them.

I'd probably be okay too, but I'm really .... about charging. I have two 40w in sealed boxes ready for friends that are not as good about charging as I am. You ever met that friend that always seems have less than than 50% battery left on his phone? That's this friend.

This friend's isticks have been dead before the BBQ's even start.

I'm seeing that my juice is turning a darker brown color when using this tank on my isticks and wondering what the cause of that is.

I've been a ego twist bat w/GS H3 tank gal for over 2 years, so both of the isticks are new to me as well as the awesome nauti mini.
Thus said, I'm using the tank with the 2nd to largest hole for 'air flow', 4.2V with a 2.0 ohm 'coil' reading on the istick (bought extra 'coils' at 1.8 ohm and this is in the tank now). I've DIY'd my juice in a combo of Tobacco, Sweet Mango, French Vanilla flavors with 12mg of nic.

2nd question is how are the 'coils' made in this tank - is/are there coil(s) inside? or just wicking (which doesn't sound right to me)?
I find some dark residue in the surrounding of where the base of the coil screws into - and I am thinking something is getting hot and burning the juice - but don't know what to do, to lower the heat, so my juice isn't discolored. Any help is appreciated. Perhaps this isn't an issue to worry over? I'm learning, ok! haha

Hi Nancy yea it's normal for your juice to get a lil darker and your settings are good. Happens more often with darker sweet juices. The coils or atomizers have both a coil and wicking materials inside. They will also gunk up faster with said juices. I use a sweet tobacco flavored juice also. Yours sounds yummy! You will want to rinse and dry the base out without a coil in it once a week to remove any juice down there. Enjoy..

Was excited when I saw this, but saw that the only one in stock for $19.99 was the pink one . Would have taken black, blue, or silver.

I have 20W/30W iSticks in all 4 colors.

To me...the "pink" (looks purple to my eyes) is the most beautiful one.

Whenever I head out the door I most often take the pink one with me. It gets many complements and is a real "conversation starter".

So if the Phils numbers are correct my 40 needs to be adjusted roughly 20% higher which kinda makes sense, since I don't get anything out from my TCT @200C but need to rise it up to around 240 - 250C.
Granted I need to get some other tanks to play with to eliminate the chance it's tanks fault.
Say has anyone tried titanium with this?

I vaped ITC Vapes Dirty Dutchman for a month or two. Funny, how I can't really stand it now?

Anyways, it's a pipe tobacco with chocolate and caramel blend that's a dark brown from the bottle. After getting through half the tank, it would turn pretty much black. Definitely a coil gunker. When I refilled halfway through the tank, you could see the difference between the new liquid and the old liquid like 2 different layers of ice cream.

Fresh juice can also darken prematurely from old and gunked juice on your coil. Gunk can also cause post ignition and burn your wick after releasing the fire button as I believe happened here. Over half my wick was gone(what dropped out was still wet).

Replaceable batteries means if the mod holds up its over value will be rewarded in the long run.

That's why I'm preferring to buy mods with external batteries these days. I'll still be using them when my iStick 30w and other mods are long dead.

I view it as a toss-up....which fails first the battery or the electronics. The circuits and chips we are buying are not the most robust and rugged around, just whatever they can get to work for the price. At present the QC while manufacturing our mods is less than stellar, judging by the posts of "My <fill in the blank> just stopped working, how can I fix it, it's out of warranty"

I own both internal and external battery mods, hope something lasts....
