The new purple Sammy 30Q or the Tootsie Roll LG HG2 are the latest 3000mAh, high discharge batts. IRC, Mooch liked them equally. They're both good batts. I tell people to grab whichever is cheapest when they're buying.

I love my LG HG2's. I got 2 on Amazon after I won the clouper mini, and I've got nothing but good things to say about them. Just ordered 2 more from a seller on ebay that was recommended in the pico thread. I also ordered a white pico from RMV to tide me over whilst I wait FOR-EVAH for the pink one from FT. Due to ship on 4/6; if it goes into "restocking" status, ima gonna cancel and scoop another from RMV.:hubba:

Edited to add: Aaaaaaaaaaaannnd, I just got my shipping notice from RMV. All told, about 3 hours from order placement to ship. Can't beat that!!!!
Thanks very much for the info Peoples!! :)

My istick got some new clothes and it's sharing with my other istick! I am not super fond of the tiny window they left instead of just creating the wrap with the entire black part showing, but with the white doors on the wrapped gray mod there isn't much gray left showing. Now I just need a set of black doors for even more creative freedom, lol.

They're both 3000mAh...but the Samsung-30Q is 15A while the LG-HG2 is 20A.

While Samsung rates the 30Q as a 15A cell, Mooch's testing showed it to be a "pretty good 20A continuous discharge rating (CDR) cell". For those who are vaping hot builds, the HG2 is probably a stronger choice. However, the 30Q holds its own. Tootle puffers (actually </= 50W - single cell) needn't worry one way or another. Simply purchase whichever is less expensive when you're ready to buy.

That's amazing! I did get to cancel my order from the other vendor (they said they actually don't even have just the mod in stock-full kits only, lol) so I just placed my order, too! :)

Yep, I just cancelled my pink one from FT since the ETA date moved ahead another 10 days. Pfffffffffffttt - ain't nobody got time for that!:pervy:

latest

My white one from RMV should be here in a few days. If I like it, I'll order the pink one from them as well.

That must be why I prefer the HG2s. Those extra 5 amps must make a bit of difference, however small, that I notice.

I got my shipping notice from RMV today! There are going to be a bunch of us sporting new Picos in a few days, it seems. We will have a Pico party, lol! :)

Figured while I'm in here I might as well ask a question.

Since this is my first ever mod with a removal battery, is there any danger with always charging the battery inside the mod that otherwise wouldn't be present for a mod with it built in?

That's probably a dumb question, but there were always all these posts about battery safety with chargers and stuff back when mech mods were more popular and required separate batteries and a separate charger.

I'm going to have a spare LG HG2. The only time I would ever need it is if I was on the go somewhere without access to a charger. Would it be safe to keep it in the car like in the glove box or something?

There's all these warnings about lithium ion batteries. There was even a warning on the outside of a baby monitor shipping box about them being inside. I was like, are you going to handle the box any differently knowing there's a battery in there?

Hahahaha, I have often thought the same thing about USPS! Even if I tell them "yes" when they as if there is anything liquid inside they don't do anything different to the box, lol. So weird. :)

I charge my single removable-battery mods via USB frequently and I have never had a problem with it. The only mod I don't do that with is my X-Cube II because SMOK specified that the USB on that mod is strictly for updating. Also, it's a dual-battery mod and I feel better charging those batteries on the charger.

As for keeping your mod in the glove compartment, I don't think it would hurt the battery. If you are worried about that you could always just take the battery out of the mod, I suppose. The only problem I have ever had with having mods in the car is that the juice gets warm and sometimes it makes the tank a little leaky. Of course I am not an expert, so maybe someone else has a better answer for you. This is just my own personal experience. :)

Oh I wasn't referring to the mod. I was referring to keeping a spare battery in the car. All these disclaimers make me think it's going to explode or start a fire if I do.

If I kept a mod with a tank in the glove box it would leak to no end, and the juice would get stale. Yuck.

LiIon batteries don't like a lot of heat. High heat also reduces the capacity and longevity of the cell. A vehicle's glove compartment can get pretty hot during the summer, sometimes 140F+. It is never recommended to leave a battery in direct sunlight or in high heat, including your cell phone, computer, etc. I don't do it or have any experience with it. Are the manufacturer warnings simply a CYA limited liability statement? I don't know. Whatever you decide, please be careful. We like you around here. :D

Oooooh, you got it! I love it! That drip tip is perfect on that setup. I really like the paint on it, too. It looks nice and grippy. :)
It is Sheri. Mine is the same color as Dale's. No pictures though...no fancy drip tip! Lol

Ahhh, I thought you just meant to keep the mod in the glove compartment while you were shopping or something, lol! Duh.

Awww, a hand check is always great, even with the stock drip tip! :) I have a white tank and a pink iSub tank on standby for when I get mine. Not sure yet what tank gets the Pico. The only fancy drip tips I have are glow-in-the-dark pink silicone ones from FastTech, lol!

Speaking of batteries, is there no love for the green Samsung 25R?

The Sammy 25Rs are great batteries; right up there with the LG HE2/HE4. Mooch showed the 30Qs and LG2s to actually have the 500mAh more capacity that is marketed. If someone has a bunch of 25Rs, there's certainly no need to run out and replace them. A 30Q cost me 35¢ more than a 25R. If buying new, I'll pay the 35¢ for the newer battery with an extra 500mAh. :2c:
