I love how Phil teased the readings for 20 minutes into the video, hah. What a showman. Love it.

I'm glad that the conspiracy theorists were redeemed today. I think Phil sums it up best, where it's an easy workaround, but hopes they fix it on the next one. I think this is a case where everyone has a fair POV- those that care about things like this are justified, but others like myself who find it to be small potatoes can enjoy away. Can't wait to buy more of them with version 2.

Over the past couple of weeks, I've read every post in this thread. As such, Busardo's review was pretty much as expected. I liked his story near the beginning of the video, which puts things into perspective.

Kudos to those here who nailed the Vrms thing.

I'm still really happy I bought one and look forward to the next iteration! :)

While I don't think Phil really said anything that wasn't already known, if you have kept up with this thread, he did a very fair review and he admitted it worked well for him. I completely understand his points and I don't disagree with anything he said. It hits hard and you may have to turn it down. For me the V1 iStick is working great, I just have to turn it down.

His suggestions have already been espoused here many times and they seem reasonable. I hope the V2 addresses the few issues many, including Phil, have raised and keeps the price point reasonable.

Knowing what I know now I would still purchase it again.

So I finally took the plunge and got myself one. The reviews are spot on. I am a simple-to-please vaper and this 2-day beauty keeps me happy. In fact, I haven't touched my VV or MVP since I got it. A full two days of vaping, full puffs until the end, all in the size of a bic lighter (which I no longer carry)....what more is there to ask!! Thanks for all the great reviews that pushed me into taking the plunge and adding this device to my collection!!

If by "conspiracy theorist" you mean person who got one of these when they dropped and found it to be off compared to other modern vape devices, then I'm one. It's nice to see it confirmed, that we aren't just wacky haters out to bring down istick. Hopefully Joyetech (or someone) brings one out soon with that flaw corrected - meanwhile I like it enough to own more than one and to have bought one for my daughter - warning her to start at lower power than she usually does. I missed the part where he said it would be difficult for them to work around this - he seemed as surprised as us Conspiracy Theorists were that they did it this way.

I might by another one now just in case they really screw up version2 :)

Heh.

I think they did a great job with v1 despite the Mean vs RMS issue. It gives me confidence that they won't screw up v2 of this device. I think they were on Reddit asking for input to improve v1 last week so it shows that they really care about putting out a quality product with features that the consumers want. I've seen some really unreasonable requests but there were some really good ones too.

The spring loaded connector is probably universally agreed upon.

Moving the charging port isn't an issue to me but I can see it being beneficial while charging with a topper that leaks when put on its side.

Moving the 510 connector closer to the center so there's no overhang is more cosmetic but I kinda like it where it is as the slight overhang makes holding the istick easier.

Replaceable battery. I'm on the fence with this. I thought it would be an issue with the MVP2 when I got it. I'm starting to see these as disposable devices. Long term disposable but still disposable. Also, having a replaceable battery means that some beginners would have to invest in batteries and charger (or charge in the unit). The capacity was also requested but a 2200 mah 18650 is fairly cheap. I think up to 2600 mah would still be reasonably priced but the higher capacity batteries would definitely price this out of some vapors' budgets.

Sub-ohm capable. This is something I'd like to see. If it could fire .5 ohm or higher, I would've bought a couple more already. The 1 ohm limit is what's holding me back and has me looking at a Cloupor DNA 30. It's not that I sub-ohm all the time but I'd like to have the flexibility to try it out w/o buying new mods. The Cloupor would be great for home use as size wouldn't matter much and the istick for out and about since its so small. It's much less clunky than the MVP2.

No conspiracy theory here!

;)

I'm glad my assumptions were confirmed. For me, 4 volts is too high for stock 2.5 ohm Kanger factory coils. That's why the stick doesn't work for them at a 3 volt setting.

I am using a bdc for my sticks, and it's ok.

I wish eLeaf would have calibrated to rms, and hope they do with a version 2.

Vape happy!

:D

Er, edited. I meant that it IS an easy workaround, just to simply bump it down.

Explain to me why a "fantastic overall device" deserves a thumbs down?

He says at the end of the video that he's doing it primarily just to get, what he thinks is an odd oversight, to be addressed by Eleaf. If you watch the video all the way though, it's pretty clear that under sodium thiopental, he does not have any big beef. It's more of a protest vote for the good of the device's future. In context it's fine.

It's like publishing the greatest novel but misspelling the title. :D

I sort of agree with you, but that's just because we're probably "adaptable" and can circumvent some quirks. But from Busardo's viewpoint, I can see where he's coming from; Vavg output shouldn't even exist anymore. We are all used to Vrms now and we benchmark our taste from device to device using this measurement. The iStick totally screws this up for low power vapers such as me.

My iStick is my main mod right now and more than ever I'm looking forward to V2. Busardo doesn't give that many "thumbs down" so let's hope he has an impact.

Not if you're already at 3.0v which is really 4.0v RMS on any other device. I normally vape at 3.5v.
