The single kanger coils I used for almost two years only lasted me 2-3 days at best. A week or two is not bad at all for coil life. If you think about the cost of replacing a coil head once a week for~$2.50~, it's still a pretty darn inexpensive way to stay off the cancer sticks.

ETA; turning down the voltage some, might stop the popping and prolong coil life.

After reading this thread and watching the reviews I ordered an istick to try out. I have been a big fan of the Itaste MVP and VV for carrying around.
None of the pictures could prepare me for how small this thing is! Put my Russian 91 on it and the Russian dwarfs it!
I can't add anything that the others haven't covered but it's a great little PV so far.
Just the first day, hopefully it continues to be the great device it seems to be...

My B&M just got them in stock today. After reading everything, and watching just about every vid review, I had to run out and get one. I don't have anything new to add to the conversation, except to echo that it's awesome, and I'm loving it, as well as my new juice.

Upon inspection of the popping bvc, I noticed some things right off the bat. Popping is a sign of flooding, too much juice settling on the coil = popping. When I went to unscrew the base, I noticed she had not tightened it all the way, in fact about 3 full turns loose from snug lol. Secondly, when I got the base off, the head was very very loose. Simple fix, rinsed the base assembly without the head in, hit the base with compressed air in all airholes to get it nice and dry, filled her up, and reassembled, but this time snug!

I taught her the mistakes she had made, told her every time she refills to make sure the head is very snug, and told her to make sure she gets the base on snug. Also found it helps to lube the bottom rubber gasket with a smidge of juice to make it easier to get snugged up properly.

Now I love the nautilus, but the only poor part of the design is how the head is what truly takes most of the brunt as far as threading. I don't like how the head will unthread itself when removing the base, even when the head is very tight. That is my only qualm with the nautilus. Other than that, a few simple precautions and she is off and running again. Hopefully she will learn from her mistakes. I told her to look on the bright side, at least the damn thing is sealed at the 510 connection, so she won't be ruining anymore batteries from leaking through the post! Would hate to juice out the precious iStick!

Oh and by the way, I have fell so deeply in love with the iStick, I ordered two more. A pink one for the mom to hopefully get her off the nasties for good, and a blue one for myself! Both will be paired with a mini nautilus. Although I plan on running either a Orchid v4 or a trusty dripper on mine. Gotta love em!

Cheers :vapor:

I don't know if anyone is doing this or not but one thing I noticed in the user's manual:

When necessary, clean the components (except the BVC Atomizer) by washing with clean water, and air drying.

That kinda surprised me because most atomizer heads can be rinsed while cleaning.

I was used to cleaning my Kanger coils with vinegar on a fairly regular basis.
I tried cleaning the BVC when I first got one and it performed worse. My thought was the carmelized juice sloughed off the coils and clogged up the bioceramic wicking material.
These coils seem to last so long anyway that I just make sure it doesn't dry out and just refill the tank til the coils die.

hey Ryan. I found Nautilus BVC coils from evertechusa on eBay 10 for $18.50. thats only $1.85 per coil! they also have nauti tanks under $20. Vape on Stickers! :D

Good looking out, looks like it's time to stock up! And ya I bought my 2 iSticks and 2 mini Nautlius' from vapenw for such an amazing price. The mini's were $19.99, and the iSticks were $35. So around $110 for two setups, such a steal!

I know most of you do not like to rebuild coils, and that's a big concern about rebuidable tanks. But the thing is I have not seen so far so intense flavour and vaping quality as with some RBA and RTA... and they are prepared to be recoiled by the user...

But even those clearomizers which are not intended to get recoiled, and instead they just change coils with stock pre-manufactured ones, you can toy with them. I have almost forgotten my stock coils for my Kanger clearos, they were bought just in case, but I always recoil the heads with cotton, fiber and nichrome wire. I give up on dual-coiled heads, though, they're not worth the time in the more difficult process to get a twin coiled head.

But even with a single coil my Kanger Protank and miniProtank 3 heads works flawlessly, most of the times they even surpass the stock Kanger manufactures, and in that way I forgot the nuissances of calculating the cost of anything. Fiberglass wicks, cotton and nichrome (or kanthal) wires are really inexpensive. The rest is your joy, as in any other hobby.

Last experiment was fueled by some Youtube videos in which some guys are recoiling Aspire BVC's and Kanger dual coil heads... with BVC coils too. And I can assure you, my miniProtank 3 heads now rocks! They are more or less equally hard to recoil horizontally or vertically, but vertically it seems there is some advantages about flavour, not so bigger in vapour production. It's soon to talk about endurance of the coils, but I hope the best, because now, when the coils get gunked, the gunk is outside the air pass, so I really hope for the best.....

I do not know if you know this, but it is possible (beware the long-sightedness people like me, though, you might need a good magnifyier glass.....):

Thx for video! I guess it doesn't hurt to toy around with a couple of my old coils just to see how it goes...

Just a heads up for all of you thinking about where to buy an iStick.....If you order from litecigusa.net, you may or may not get the knurled 510/ego adapter. I ordered a 'red' and a black from them, the 'red' had a plain old cheapy 510/ego adapter and the black one had the real deal. They said 'That is the adaptor that came with all that color isticks.' I already have a blue one, from another place, and it came with the one it's supposed to.

^ I watched most of the video. It was interesting to see the cotton go outside of the coil. I've never seen that before.

Is it really significantly better though? It looks like a lot of trouble and has a lot more possible points of failure. I'm surprised the coil didn't short out when he put the chimney back on. That video was over 30 minutes long. I'm sure he could do it faster if he wasn't teaching, but I can rebuild my protank horizontally in less than 5 minutes.

I rebuild my primary protank single coils about once every 3 days. Afterwards you can see a significant dropoff in flavor and how well it pulls.

I noticed that someone was talking about popping coils a few pages back. When I'm using my coil after a fresh rebuild, I get pops all the time. I just assumed it was the coil getting worked in. Is the pop bad? Did I break one of the wraps or something?
