I fly RC aircraft and have learned (the hard way) about battery safety.

If you're concerned you can place the device your charging on something like an old ceramic dinner plate . Better a scorch mark and mess on an old plate that on a wooden nightstand or kitchen counter.

Good idea...I like that!

Thanks, KVS. I do keep them on a plate, and I use good chargers. Thankfully my life allows me to charge all that I need after work, and be done before I go to sleep. So I'm sitting next to them for 90% of the time.

And I can't help but notice your name. As a rule, I'd think "Krashman" is probably not a name for someone you'd want flying your aircraft. I guess it's good that yours don't carry any passengers? ;-)

A name well earned while learning to fly said aircraft....and partially responsible for the aforementioned "battery incident".

We shall not speak of this again.

As for the Von Stinputin part....let's just say it involves beans.....

Thanks, D. Any thoughts on the overnight thing? Am I just being paranoid?

I won't charge my batteries while I'm out of the house. I will charge them overnight, but only if necessary.

I use a fancy tin container to charge in, just in case. If I didn't have that, I would use a pyrex baking dish. Plus, I only charge batteries in the room I'll be in most of the time while they're charging so I'll be there to fix anything that may go wrong.

I've never had anything explode or catch fire. But, I do walk by and check the batteries occasionally and have had a couple of them get hot enough that I unplugged them as a precaution. Not so hot that I was worried about a fire. Just hot enough to want to *rest* the battery for a while before continuing to charge.

I had one eGo charger that tended to do that (make the batteries get very warm while charging). I threw it away and started buying higher quality eGo chargers. My regular charger is an Xtar. Never had any problems with it.

About to pull the trigger on one of these. Long story short, my spinner just bit the dust this week. I've tried all sorts of tank/battery combinations, and have had the most success with the EVOD bcc.

I've read a decent amount of this thread and while the Nautilus mini seems be the go-to pairing with the iStick, I was wondering if something like a mini protank II would pair up well. Thanks in advance!

Very good!! I can't put it down.

sweet ! good to hear. my mvp is starting to fade quicker and quicker and I wanted to try something new but not too unfamiliar.i love the little box mod mvp2, so when I seen this I thought it would make a good replacement.

I got 2 mini nautilis's and one full size to top them with, but opon looking at the size, maybe the 5 ml naut will just look ridiculous on it.oh well. can't wait to get em.i ordered 2 silvers.:vapor:

Mini protank II pairs up very well.....but you may need to get a 510 to ego adapter. If one doesn't come with your mod, you can pick up inexpensively from many suppliers.

@JMD -- the mini nauti is a perfect fit, but the full size nauti is a nice pairing, too.
