Kat. Must say I am loving your new avi. I'd love a pair of those glittery green boots. Would be a fab drip tip too!
I have both the 20W & 30W eleaf, Like most I had drama with the pin on the 20W and I found that the problem in the majority was the 510 adaptor that eleaf supplied. As the the pin on the 20W as we all know colapses downward with continuous use I got about a month and a half out of mine before the pin started to collapse down. I overcame this problem in two ways.
1. I purchased a different ego/510 adaptorthis has a longer thread than the one supplied by Eleaf.![]()
2. The second option was the Eleaf bending adaptor which has a spring loaded pin![]()
This worked far better however it does not work all that well with the 30W Eleaf due to its design change. If you want the Eleaf 20 Watt bending adaptor I found mine here and the Eleaf pouches on a lanyard are also good, The Eleaf is not waterproof and dropping it in a rain puddle does little to promote its longevity.
Eleaf bending adaptor
Cheers

Hello everyone
I have been reading this Thread: Eleaf Istick for several months in the background and read over the 1000 plus pages of this tread and learned a lot, and finally decided to register on ecf
The regulars here are and have been wonderful and always helpful
I would like to sincerely thank the regulars here for all their posts related to the Eleaf Istick
Because of you I bought a 20 watt Eleaf Istick and really like it.
There is a really nice family of regulars here and I would like to interact with you
I was able to easily quit ciggs and switch to ecig vaping about 6 months ago
I make my own juices and use a 50/50 pg\vg mix with currently 15 % nic
I use Nautilus mini and several Klangertech Evods
Been thinking about trying a GS and getting a 30 watt Istick
Like all mass produced items some work well some don't.
I have two of these hinges one is a bit loose on the locking mechanism but that is not my main concern, I am more interested in the firing pin connecting after months of use and the thing colapsing downward.
The alternate adaptor I use is slightly longer in the threaded shank and makes a better contact.
As to using the bending hinge on the 30W eleaf yes it can be done using the alternate adaptor.
Acer.
Nice collection!I've had my 50 for a few weeks now, no issues, love it, have a mini, 3x 20w, and a 30w, Have had my first 20 since the thread started, still works as the day I bought it.
I try to be a little careful with my gear, I guess that has paid off, zero issues with any of my Isticks, some phantom clicks, maybe a little rattle. Solid high value devices with some minor quirks.
Think the 30 is my favorite, 50 is a close second though, mostly for battery life.
inspects thanks for And welcome aboard........
I've been thinking this for months, Jeremy. For our purposes, Lithium-Polymer batteries are far superior to traditional Lithium-Ion (and derivatives) batteries. Li-Po batteries pose little to no additional safety concerns based on how we use them. In addition, Li-Po batteries are noticeably less expensive.
Manufacturers and modders have been designing both regulated and unregulated devices around battery form-factor. The vaping industry is far in excess of one billion dollars now. It's time battery manufacturers begin making batteries in form-factors more suitable to how we want to utilize them. Can you imagine telling cellular phone and tablet manufacturers that they must design their devices around the 18650 battery? Few consumers would purchase said devices.
All this being said, wouldn't it be nice to be able to easily obtain what is already being manufactured? The 2200-2600mAh cylindrical, "18650" Li-Pos that are being utilized in devices like the iSticks would be brilliant in devices like the original (and now DNA40) Vapor Sharks, Hana Minis, etc. They wholesale for $2 or less each. As the iStick 50W and Smart 30 have demonstrated, building a compact, ergonomic device around two if these is a reality.
I've also been intrigued by the VapeDroid which is a DNA 40 iStick-type APV that flares on one side to accommodate a 26650.

Although I haven't held one yet (they're stupid expensive), it appears like it would fit comfortably in my largish hands. It is more compact than the dual-battery Smart 30. A 26650-sized Li-Po could easily spec at 3500-4000mAh. We could even have Li-Po-powered devices with user-replaceable (but probably not swappable) batteries, utilizing Deans or similar connectors. The battery wears out after a year-and-a-half and we can replace it.
What we do and use does not require rocket science. It seems that our industry has been driven by anyone but vapers and capable designers/engineer. Fortunately, our voices seem to be getting through to manufacturers, albeit slowly.
Now, it's imperative that our political representatives and public policy makers hear our voices as well. If you haven't looked at the CASA CTAs posted in the banner at the top of every ECF page, please do so. Governments of all shapes and sizes are trying to severely impact what has finally allowed many of us to permanently ditch tobacco products. It's absurd and, frankly, a bit frightening. I don't know about you, but I've had just about enough of our governments' idiocy in creating public policy. I'm mad as hell and won't take it any more! Please call/write your representatives and let them know what you think, that you're watching and vote.
