Hi All,
Still having problems with both of my black Isticks. The center pin is so touchy. Can anybody tell me where to buy a spring loaded 510 like the VT 510 ? I use PT 2's and now have to leave the bottom attached to fill tank when I fill juice. It seem for every hit I have to look at screen to see what Ohm reading is. Very disappointing !!! Also need to know what tool removes the screws on bottom and top. Thanks

It could be that the wires to the pin aren't soldered correctly. The easy solution is to lift the center pin about a mm. I use a pick. You might also want to clean the threads on both the Istick and your atomizers.

You can buy VT 510 connectors at VariTube.com. You need to create an account. I'm not sure if these will even fit yet. I have a dead Istick coming to test fit.

The screws are T5 but it seems to vary. I have T4 and T5 and it feels like a T4.5 but there's no such thing. I used a T5 very carefully as to not strip the head.

FINALLY my isticks arrived today  Ten full days after I got my tracking number.

Anyway, the most I have experience with is ego bats with Evod clearos, so here are my observations from someone who doesn't know the first thing about watts, volts, charts, sub-ohms etc...

Topped it with a new mini Nautilus (my first non-evod style clearo!), put a cute red stubby drip tip on to match my cute red istick, set it to the lowest setting, and received the greatest taste and throat hit of my vaping career :vapor:

I also tested an evod clearo, I have about 30 of these and a ton of single kanger coils that I rebuild, and I'd hate for them to sit around not getting any use. Anyway, it worked just fine with the Evod. No burnt hits at all, and terrific throat hit.

My only negative observation is really about the mini-naughty, not the istick, and thats about how quickly it uses up juice. A full evod with much smaller capacity lasts me several hours to a whole day, depending on what I'm doing that day. I used up half a tank on the naughty in about two hours of light to moderate use. I do like the taste & kick of the BVC's though, so I've ordered a couple of the new aspire K1's. I like the nautilus, and have even ordered a couple of the nice SS tanks for it, but I think on most days I would prefer the smaller form factor of the K1.

So far it the istick gets two thumbs up from me, but I did just get them today, so we will see how it goes from here.

I just picked up an iStick with a mini Nautilus on Friday, and I've noticed the same thing regarding the amount of juice I'm going through. I'm not sure if it's the tank or the fact that hits I'm getting off of this setup are so pleasant that I'm simply using it more! (Probably a little bit of both). Either way, I was only going through about 2mL a day (at most), and this weekend I've easily been using up 3mL juice per day since I started using this new rig.

Hoping this little guy holds up long term, because I really like it. Gonna try to only use my Nautilus tank on it...and keep my EVOD and clearos for use as my "travel/backup" rig.

Thanks KTM Rider. I will wait for your work on the soon to arrive Stick. I do have to pry up the pin at least twice a week to get them to work. I plan on replacing the screws with better ones when I have to dissect mine.......

Ok So I read it again and again and again...my "good spot" today is 6.2 watts and VV shows 3.1. Multiplied 3.1 by 5.5 and divided by my resistance (1.6) means I am happily vaping at 10.65 watts (which is close to where my Vamo is usually set!
Thanks
Ok. That all makes sense :) Thanks Don.

Wrong Kat, Kat. :p You of all people should be able to tell us apart. :D

They are fantastic. That's why I'm so intrigued, Kat darling! Should I take one for the team? Hmmm....

Or should I just get with the program and get that Naughty, fiberglass and all? Hmmm?

Am I being paranoid? Don't answer that!!!!!!!!!!

Do eeet! Take one for the team! I'd love to know if these are 5 times better than the currently manu'd ones. But then again, you would not be able to do that comparison, now would ya. ;) C'mon Katyaaa, just go for the fiberglass and all. ;)

For the team, eh? :D

Available 11/21/14 (US date format). It looks like it'll be under $10 which is a good price point. I'd still rather have a VT 510 connector :D.

10 buckaroonies for the bendable might cause me to say, yeah/no. I think I may be in the "wait and see" camp on these if they come in over 5 bucks. I'm thrilled with my old skool AFCs.

KTM'er, what IS a VT 510 connector, and what does one do with it? Is this it? 510 Connector - Self-adjusting Center Pin - 14mm, 22mm, 28.5mm

Is it possible to modify the 'Stick with this using a paperclip or a pair of tweezers? (I am useless. I admit it.)

I honestly don't know what I want; I may just get that generic AFC. I think 10 bucks is too much for an adapter I don't even like.

That's it. I was going to upgrade my MVP2 but after taking it apart, I found that the top cap is metal and I could probably tap threads into the sleeve that held the old 510 connector but I don't have a tap yet (one of many vape mail headed to me). So it's in pieces now. Kinda. I soldered the VT 510 but the connector is just dangling. Like snots when you're sick.

I guess if you're related to MacGuyver, you could do it with toothpicks and some gum. :p

there you go! ;)

but as many said - start low and stop when it's just right! :D who cares what it would read on a vamo  the thing is downright cute!

So 584 pages and no one has posted a video on a rebuild- either for the 510 or to a DNA 40? Ecf I'm ashamed :p

Seriously though, won't someone post a video for these? Haven't even got an istick and want to see how doable this is. In the next year I will only be allowing myself one purchase. And that's dna 40. If it can be put into this tiny little device so much the better. I saw the one video posted up of the DNA 40 but since it's basically a brag video it's none too helpful

I saw that video. The guy said that it was such a pain in the .... that he's not even going to bother with a write up. After seeing the internals, I believe him. I wouldn't want to try it. The buttons are probably the hardest part. I wouldn't use the mechanisms that the stock Istick uses but don't see a way to add buttons w/o them easily.

I'm still waiting for my rDNA 40. Smallest DNA 40 and also the cheapest @ $190. The VS DNA 30 is about the same size as the Istick but more boxy. It's the cheapest genuine DNA device I know of @ $120.
