Took me a couple of months to figure it out...
I love my iStick, but seriously, eleaf should recalibrate it. Or use a better chip with step down, like the MVP 20.

Lol yep that looks about like most of my coils! I tend to vape at 50/50 but really dark colored juices between 3 and 4.2 volts. Bout 8ml a day

It also looks like the two 1.8 ohm BVC coils I pulled apart last week. Really want a nice airy tank to replace my three mini's.
Are you ready for a rebuildable? If so, look at the Lemo (or Lemo Drop). Everyone raves about them.
If not, Aerotanks and Emow megas are really nice on the Stick.
I use between 1.5 and 1.8 ohms in my dripper (vision eternity)
But my coils did that before the istick...I used to maybe, just maybe squeak 2weeks outta them...now I'm luck to get a day past a week

Sometimes I'll run right into a nasty burnt taste like the coil appears to be flooded and try turning the watts down a bit and still get it until checking battery level. You'll be right in the middle of a nice tank full at times and you get the unwanted surprise! I had that happen today but knew as soon as I started getting a hot sputter to check the battery and it was time to swap it out. Once a fresh battery went in all was well again.
I have my eye on an orchid. I've got a Bf-99 already ( using it to experiment badly with ss mes this week), and an Origen on order. But I'm on the fence about the Lemo; leaning more toward the drop. Anything I over 2 ml feels like SUCH a commitment [emoji23]

It probably is the Istick. I had great hopes, but mine is now the backup for my backups. Same coils, same liquids, and I get good results on a VV v3 or MVP and nasty burning taste on the Istick. Even when I used a higher ohm coil for the Istick, it would still do a scorcher at random intervals just to keep life interesting.

They are all fine devices. However, from what I hear, Lemo is the easiest to build and it's a single coil deck, which would be my personal preference.

Well besides the overall size and shape differences between the v3s, MVP, and iStick the one thing not to forget is the wattage range as well as the two Innokin products offer the separate voltage control. On the iStick as well as many other newer APVs that say VW the voltage moves along with the wattage and vice versa with seeing the wattage move while in the voltage mode.
On those two you also have the 6w-11w range while the iStick runs right in there about 4.7w right upto 20w and if you went over the 11w max on the others that would account for the warmer vape to begin with. Here I run now only but did have four eGo-V V3s until two let go as well as four V4s in use having received another four to be set aside as spares until either one of the four v3s or one of the other eGo-V batteries is the next to go.
Each one has the exact same tank but different color as well as 2ohm coils in each of those Smok Tumbler tanks. When coil's wick goes, the battery wears down, or when the wattage is up too high per flavor you'll get a nasty one that will feel like the tip on a soldering iron! If the coil is still good once the battery is recharged or the wattage is lowered you then notice the immediate improvement. The same goes for the Nautilus and Atlantis tanks only at much higher wattages with fruit and berry type blends taking on the higher wattage while a menthol tobacco flavor comes in at 20w-25w compared to the other 30w-50w depending on which flavor and where it seems to max out.
When going from MVP to Vamo to eGo VW batteries with the same tanks one flavor would vape best on a Vamo while others on the MVP or VTR while they would suffer for some reason on the Smok ACEs that had the same battery as one of the Vamos. And this is why I went for the Eleaf LCD Ohm and Power meter I can place in between tank and battery, mod to get the real time information once the resistance factor is accounted for. The 7w or 10w on one doesn't necessarily mean the same is being seen on the next if the amperage is off a bit as another item.

I run 2ohm Smok coils and those will get hot at 10-11w being the absolute max especially when a particular flavor is hot at 8w. That's what I usually refer to as "snake venom"! I used to see far more of that when still running the top single coiled long wicked 1.6ml clearomizers where every other flavor seemed to bite a little! Then any flavor to follow once in the better tanks when nicotine was present bit harder! The vape is warmer wnen nic is present.

On mine (and this is just personal taste, ymmv): Even the 2.2 ohm coils in a protank 2 with airflow control, istick at lowest setting... like vaping lava. I don't even bother.
Now, 1.8 dual coils in a genitank. That's fine. Outside in cold air, even better. lol.
Ok folks I need some advice. I set my coworker up with a istick and mini protanks....now one part of the issue is he's brand new to vaping so he continues to vape the tank completely dry....but he's running through his coils like there's no tomorrow. He really likes the protank...is there better coils out there? Or is there something like the protank with better coils that can handle being continuously dry burned and not die?
