is this what you're talking about?
Kanger Airflow Control Valve for Kanger ProTank-II, ProTank-3, AeroTank | SmokTek.com
I almost bought it with my last order of supplies but if it makes that much of a difference I'll definitely have to get it next time. My protank2 has been gathering dust lately..
I have an iStick 20w where the threads have stripped and the 510 connector won't read an atomizer. I've seen the fix where someone bought a FD 510 and used plexiglass to adapt it but don't have the tools to do that. Do they sell a kit where I can easily remove the top and replace it with the spring loaded 510 from a 30w? Disassemble, unscrew top, and screw on spring loaded 30w top?
I expect we won't find a source of parts for just that reason. And of course the pace of the business. You can buy a new 20w for about 28 bucks, or a 30w for 35 bucks....wouldn't think it would be worth the time - effort - cost trying to repair it.
You can buy spring loaded 510 connectors for 4 or 5 bucks. You may need to be skilled at soldering, drilling , shimming, etc. cause it won't be just unscrewing the old one and screwing in a new one.I have an iStick 20w where the threads have stripped and the 510 connector won't read an atomizer. (and as of another order I placed tonight, I am now up to three 20w's, four mini's, and two 30w's. I might have a problem...)
Old technology
you have no idea just how many vapers, both on vaping forums, but esp. NOT on vaping forums, who love the old technology, and quit smoking using an ego twist and an evod clearomizer or T2, etc. As a matter of fact, many still prefer them. Ditto for simple batteries......I never have vaped over 8 watts. I rarely have ever turned a battery up past 4.1-4.2. And that's going on 3 years.
Although I've actually "owned" all the big stuff. I sold it all off.
Right now, manufacturers are shooting themselves in foot by not keeping simpler smaller gear alive. I personally have no desire to carry around anything bigger than an ego battery.
Thanks, inspects.
All kidding aside, I don't understand that sub-ohm, high-wattage, cloud-chasing, lung-inhaling craze. I don't want to go back to smoking. Whatever happened to tobacco harm reduction and all that? Aren't we all going in the wrong direction?

If you hate to be that guy, don't be that guy.
Telling a fellow vaper to ditch his gear is rarely helpful--unless he's using CE4 clearos.
Kanger makes very good tanks--I've been using them for over two years now without a problem. Really.
Just sayin'...
the second I hit the square button and try to vape, (actually about1.3 seconds in,) the display reads "Protected" or "No Atomizer"- I've tried 4 different known good atty's and 3 different adapters, as well as no adapter and can't get the damned thing to hit. It was my Xmas present to myself so it's less than two months old. Disappointed and back to using my heavy Tesla.

Amen sister.
I hate to quote myself, but this is what I just posted in another thread.
Stolen from yet another thread on new technology:
