I know. We're looking for a house with some land for the horses (paying board now) and I'm not looking forward to the havoc that will play with my schedule.

Thank you for the article. That was interesting.

Just do the best you can with your meals each day, and strive to do better tomorrow. As stated above, stressing about it will make it worse.
Throw some trail mix (that you make yourself so you know what's in it) in some little snack size bags in your desk. Keep some in your car.
Try to take a bite of supper. Sometimes you're not hungry until you take a few bites, then realize you really DO want food.

Exactly, and I think thats what I'm seeing. I do notice when I eat before bed my sugars are lower in the morning. I must admit due to some major stresses at work in the past few weeks my schedual has been way off and I found myself on many occasions working through lunch and then on a few nights I've come home so fustrated from the workday that I would skip dinner or eat way past my normal dinner time. This I'm sure is contributing to the problems I'm having now.

I'm glad I started this thread if for nothing else to get some very good advice and give me some reminders to get myself back on track.

Thank you everyone.

Think you nailed it there with the stress my friend. For me stress really messes up my blood sugars.
I can wake at 150, bolus it down to 120 before I leave for work, and the stress of dealing with knucleheads drivers for 30 minutes will shoot it to 200+ by the time I get to work.
My dad was a "brittle" diabetic and I got a good dose of his goofy type. My sugars will shoot up or plummet when the wind blows just so. When I started vaping I was very concerned and checked my blood sugars VERY often and was happy to find that vaping had no affect....on me. Being diabetic I'm sure you know that what does, or doesn't, affect 1 diabetic may have a completely different affect on another.
My advice.....check, check, check your blood sugars before, during and after vaping to see how/if its doing anything to you and talk to your doc.
Good luck.

Great advice and now that the long holiday weekend is at hand I'm on my way to getting myself on track with some rest and a schedualed diet.

I'm sure thats the case. after sleeping in late at the start of the holiday weekend I awoke to some nice really low numbers. Now time to work on my eating schedual.

Best of luck.
People that aren't aware of diabetes have know idea what all is involved. They think you just can't eat sweets and all is cool.
The pump changed my life so much. 8-14 injections a day isn't the way to live. Of course you have at least that many finger sticks as well.
I had so many holes in me that when it was time to water the lawn, my wife would give me a big glass of water and have me run around the yard:laugh:...

Hope you find that vaping has no or very little affect on your glucose levels.

 you guys are making me want to check more frequently...

I've been around 150-175...I need to do better. I was worried about vaping increasing my blood sugars, but after researching I don't think it is.

Thanks for the motivation to improve

Geo

Whatever it takes buddy.....just do it.........because you have to and you know it.
But take solace in the fact that you're not alone....

As a type 2 just having to take just 2 pills a day and control my diet I consider myself lucky. I feel your pain and the 4 - 5 times a day I need to monitor myself with the usual sticks is nothing compaired to your daily hell and you still keep a sence of humor about you. That I can truly admire. As for me watering the lawn, if I had that many holes in me my wife would hand me the garden hose and tell me where to stick it, hold my arms out and turn slowly while making ticking noises. Do yourself a favor and don't try to picture that. You'll be haunted by that image for the rest of your life:)

You should really get motivated to do better 150 - 175 is high. You should get yourself down to betwwen 110 - 120. Have you talked to your doctor recently? I'm at 150 and it scares me to deaath and I'm doing what I need to do to get back to my usual 115.

I most certainly do feel fortunite and feel for everyone thats insulin dependant. My grand father was type 1 insulin dependant and he went through hell with medical problems going blind in his later years. He lost a limb and died at 64 caused by diabetic complications.

Thank you for your comment and I'm doing research on this and coming up with the same conclusion. Most say it's not nearly as bad as analog's but still bad expecially juices containing EM. I found one site that had comments from a diabetic speciaist that state it's a very good alternitive to actual smoking and does not significantly increase blood sugar even the sweet vapes. But there are a lot of post from diabetics that have noticed an increase in blood sugar and this concerns me just for the fact that mine increased and this was not the case a month ago when I first started vaping. I don't want to give vaping up now that I'm completely off analogs and now must weigh the risks between going back to analogs or staying with vaping. My thoughs right now is that I'm still better off staying with the vape.

hmm... I wonder if it has anything to do with dehydration. I'm a diabetic also.

Sometimes it's nice to hang with folks that "get" you....

I totally agree or even maybe a sticky. The information that could come out of that could be invaluable. Not to mention the peer support from like people.

The last 2 days I've been staying below 140 and I seem to be dropping so that is a very good thing. I think the combination of the stress, the being a fairly new vaper and off cigarettes for about a month, My eating schedual being off as of late all contributed to my problems. The fact that I was very stressed from work related issues, the fact that my body is adjusting to a new nicotine delivery system (Vaping and no more cigarettes), the change in my eating schedual all played a part in where I am now. Just 2 days of getting back on track has already showed a difference. I'm seeing my doctor next week and will be discussing these with him. Now if my wife can keep her temper in check I just may have a system:evil:
