I give up, every coil I make tastes like crap. I'm going to bed!
i ordered the cup point ones92015A091 my thinking was the flat point ones would have a better chance of pinching off the wire with the flat surface. i also ordered the xtra long hex keys that are 2 13/16 inch
makes them easier to handle with the xtra long and only .31cents each
Hey Dino, I've been using a small machine screw to pre-wrap my coil, then I twist in a folded over piece of 3mm wick into it. It allows me to make nice even, closely spaced coils. I don't have my ERA yet but I use what's pictured and drop it into my DID. Works much better than SS IMO.

Nice way to do a silica coil in a geni setup Pete. Impressive
Once you form the coil on the screw, unscrew it off the screw. Then take about 2.5" of 3mm wick and twist it tight so that it's more rigid. Now fold about a 1/2" over and force it into the coil while giving the wick a twist. It takes a bit to get it in but once you do it once, it's a piece of cake. Frankly you could just wrap the coil around the wick by hand! I'm sure there are many ways to use silica wick in a Genesis. This one seems to work great for me.I like the idea of using a screw...I don't quite get how to insert the wick after that though....
