Being attractive, funny and lovable pretty much gets you a man who will do stuff for you... trust me, I'm always doing stuff for ladies with those qualities.

Jack

I can't seem to get any men to do much of nothing for me,lol

Maybe attractive, funny and lovable is all in my imagination:laugh:

I give up, every coil I make tastes like crap. I'm going to bed!

NOOOoooooooo, don't give up :(. Did you oxidize your wick and wire before starting? Do you have the hole in the top cap lined up in front of the coil? There are so few variables that this can be figured out.
I am in no way an expert on rebuildable's and if I can do it, so can you.

Here is a basic starter build-Before wrapping oxidize the wick material and the wire.

Hey Dino, I've been using a small machine screw to pre-wrap my coil, then I twist in a folded over piece of 3mm wick into it. It allows me to make nice even, closely spaced coils. I don't have my ERA yet but I use what's pictured and drop it into my DID. Works much better than SS IMO.

i ordered the cup point ones92015A091 my thinking was the flat point ones would have a better chance of pinching off the wire with the flat surface. i also ordered the xtra long hex keys that are 2 13/16 inch
makes them easier to handle with the xtra long and only .31cents each

I just got these in.... part number 90116A007 from McMaster Carr. They are perfect and because the are 1mm shorter than the stock allen heads, you can screw them all the way down.

What size is the screw?

I like the idea of using a screw...I don't quite get how to insert the wick after that though....
Once you form the coil on the screw, unscrew it off the screw. Then take about 2.5" of 3mm wick and twist it tight so that it's more rigid. Now fold about a 1/2" over and force it into the coil while giving the wick a twist. It takes a bit to get it in but once you do it once, it's a piece of cake. Frankly you could just wrap the coil around the wick by hand! I'm sure there are many ways to use silica wick in a Genesis. This one seems to work great for me.

1. If you work with the silica you can maneuver it through by twisting it tight and feeding it through the middle.
2. You can put a loop of thread (needle threaded) and sew it right through!
