I have been messing around with this ERA for two weeks now.....Word of advice....But extra wick. I went through 20' of wick already. Just testing different coil methods....LOL

The good thing is I've learned a lot. I have finally figured out how to wrap 10 wraps and get a nice even burning coil. My biggest problem was figuring out....Finally....that you need to pull the coil away from the pos and neg posts after your done.....I think it's 9 or 10 wraps of 32 Nichrome measuring out to 3.2 ohms.

Yay!! Got my 2 ERAs today! Bummer they don't fit right in the cup of my VVW, but I managed to screw the base in and then just push the cap over the first oring. I had to lift the coil up a bit since the airhole is higher than intended, but seems to be working great! Not ideal, as I'd like the whole ERA to fit into the catch cup, but at least it fires and is usable. I don't have the tooling to try and enlarge the cup, but did I read right that Rob could possibly switch it out to a slightly larger cup? Thanks for all the tips everyone! You guys are awesome, I love me some Reoville!!!

The Chalice and even my modified Phoenix have been so good to me these last few weeks, but these ERA's are just so easy to set up... I almost feel bad setting those others aside, but there's a new gang in town and they're takin' over!

ERA FTW, but I am going to open the air intake just a bit, got real used to a loose draw and I kinda miss it.

I have to say, one thing I really like about these... Since I'm using cotton wicks it's imperative I keep them wet for fear of inhaling cotton smoke. Its so nice to be able to just pop the cap off and take a peak inside to make sure everything is nice and moist. Screwing the top off the Chalice was easy enough, but popping the top off the ERA has it beat. And its no contest compared to the Phoenix. Checking that one involved taking the whole atty off, then unscrewing the top cap which always had juice dripping down the sides of the cup.

cleaned and rebuilt era today. a month with that setup not too bad eh? its brother came in too

Thank you for that first photo! The wick in my new era got black in an hour and I freaked and replaced it thinking I screwed up and it was burnt out. I'm guessing them turning black under the coil in normal?

So just to share, I just figured out what was goin wrong on the ERA I've been using on my Grand. Turns out, I was wrapping for a very low coil, like 1.2ohm, but kept ending up with it reading around 1.6-1.9. I checked if the coil was touching anywhere and made sure the atty connection was good, and confirmed for the 327th time that I had the air hole lined up right, etc, etc. So I was considering rebuilding it again, but I noticed the positive screw was slightly wiggly. So I broke out the wrench and gave it a tiny little snug and that apparently made the connection solid again and now it hits right on 1.2 as I intended! Matter of fact, it's a little too low and seems to be burning my juice a little, but man is it a nice warm satisfying vape! Anywho, I thought maybe I'd pass this on in case anyone else runs into this. I made sure to tighten the screws when I installed the coil, but I think when I twisted the tails off of the coil wire, I must have wiggled the screw loose. Easy fix, but man was it a headscratcher till I figured it out, lol. Good luck and happy vaping everyone!
