What new wick material would that be?

And you shut up. ERAs are awesome-sauce!

McMaster-Carr

I just got some in the mail today, haven't had a chance to try it. I figure I'll wait until I toast the cotton wicks I made yesterday. I'll have to go back and find his post about torching them, etc.

Just curious- does the high alumina content not worry you? I know it resists temps up to 2000 degrees...maybe it's okay, but is this not the same as aluminum? Maybe I'm mistaken and nothing to worry about...

Hard to be sure - the MSDS says not to inhale it. So far I like cotton pretty well, except that it is easy to burn if you're not paying attention.

On another note, the 91613A032 screws I got from them work fine on the ERA. The heads are a little bigger around than I thought, but I didn't have any clearance problems.

Ok Parts list for ERA. Most of this is here but not in one place. Thought I would put it all together.

List of parts on McMaster.com that will work on the ERA.
Thanks to the REO people that did the leg wok on this.

McMaster-Carr

7122A12 Inch Hex L-Key Standard, .035" Hex, 1-5/16" Length $.23 each

NEW INFO 9/25/2012

The ERA. O-Ring size is 1 x 10. From the ERA Team

This is McMaster's part number: McMaster-Carr 9262K104

92029A087 Metric Type 316 SS Cup Point Set Screw M2 Size, 4mm Long, .4mm Pitch, packs of 10

94017A101 Metric Cheese Head Phillips Machine Screw 18-8 SS, M2 Size, 4mm Length, .4mm Pitch, packs of 50 6.72 pack

Now this is not the cheapest place to get the stuff but you can get it all in one place.

NOTE: O-Rings there may be a slight deference in Each ERA so it was suggested to pick up both orings just in case you cap is to loos you can use the bigger ones.

Hope this helps any one looking for parts.

Just a quick note-in case anyone wonders if doing a split would be worth it:

I didn't get shipping info until after placing the order. Perhaps I missed it where I could do an estimate. No matter, really-shipping on my order was $4.64, almost as much as the product I ordered (92015A091-25 pack for 5.06) and sent by UPS. I am happy that I have some extras! Just a tidbit that I think is worth mentioning.

Was thinking the same thing...

Put me down too for wondering about the safety of using 96% aluminum content materials for wicks. I'd be very interested in reading your review after having used this stuff.

Funny. I came to the thread this morning and started over from the beginning. I was looking for pics of eras with drip tips to get an idea of what looks best on it. Not a lot of pics with drip tips....till the end of the thread. Since we are on that topic anyway, if you have a setup you think looks really good together, please post up a pic, thanks.
whaBAM!!! :D
hahah...sorry....I forgot that was a Chalice. My ERA is sporting a trippy also....Here's a new pic.

I have tried silica, and it is just not for me. I tried about ten different set ups, torched the wick etc, and I just can't get a satisfying flavorful vape. I think I just prefer mesh. I found if I use a small piece of mesh at an angle it hits the floor of the atty and wicks up to the coil very quickly. I get about 8 big old clouds between squonks. This setup is awesome!!!
