I drilled mine out as soon as I got it. Don't remember what size though, just know that it wasn't as large as 1/16" Good to hear I might just try opening it up a bit more. Thanks MWA!

Glad to hear and I couldn't agree more. I was kinda aggravated when I drilled my first ERA to 1/16, but now it's my favorite. I meant to go 3/64, but didn't have the right drill bit. I've since acquired one and have drilled my second ERA to 3/64. Personally, the flavor got better with both, but once you get used to the airiness of the 1/16, there's no comparison for amount of vapor. I like them having different draws, so I'll probably leave them alone, but the 1/16 is definitely getting more use. The stock hole size is definitely lacking for potential vapor production, but I truly believe TH and flavor increased dramatically with both larger sized holes also. Anyways, just my

I stopped at every hardware type store in Colorado and all four contiguous states and had no joy in finding a 3/64 drill bit. Since my life expectancy isn't all that long I gave up the search and have decided to go the 1/16th route.
I actually prefer an airy draw, to me the draw on the A7 is pretty nice so in the spirit of experimentation I'm going to open up one of my ERA's. If it's too airy I'll just close it back up, if it works out as well as ya'll say they second one will be going in for surgery too.

Instead of the drill bit how about a needle file. You will be able to open it up as much or as little as you want. Got mine at Home Depot. Works like a charm, just go slow and test the draw at frequent intervals. A little filing goes a long way...
I searched Home Depot and Lowe's for small, small needle files, even asked employees about them, all they showed me were files you could shape horseshoes with.
Drilled out my first ERA a little while ago, vaped on it for 10 or 15 minutes. Had to open the windows and set up fans to clear out enough vapor to drill the second one.
The draw may be too airy for some but I find it pretty much just right. I can see that if you're used to a tight draw it would take a little while to get used to it.

ok I'm sold so I guess I'll be opening 1 of my ERA's up as soon as I get back home
I have 2 of them and on 1 the previous owner drilled out the hole to a bit bigger but with the way I adjust them I really can't tell a difference.....

Isn't that the truth! Well in all actuality, a little more airflow would be a good thing on these as you all well know. I would just hate to lose the tighter draw if I had one.

Guy's, just another little trick,,, you can take a razor blade out of a cheap razor, it has a bunch of holes in it also, but you take the flat thin razor out and trim it with scissors and you bend it right in the inside top cap and you can adjust your airflow this way once you drill the bigger hole

After using (and actually preferring) the A7 with the nice airy draw, I opened my ERA up to 1/16. Holy cow vapor! It's actually a tad but lighter than the A7 now.

Last night I opened my ERA with a 1/16 bit, since I couldn´t find a 1/64; at first I was almost banging my head to the wall, the draw was so airy! But now I´m starting to like it and feel my other ERA´s draw too tight.
