This is no ones fault... well... maybe the post office. I ordered a shipment of juice from HG over a month ago. After a few weeks, I found out that it was held up in customs so I went ahead and bought some more crap from another vendor in the US. Two days later, BOTH shipments come in... now I've got twice the paraphernalia I usually have. This should be a good thing...but it's not. Why, do you ask? BECAUSE I HAVE NOTHING TO VAPE IT WITH!

To make a long story short, I was one of the unfortunate souls who got the short version of the mechanical button for the Protégé. Casey shipped me out a longer button to me but it never reached me (thanks to the post office). After informing Casey that the button never arrived, she decided to send out an entire switch (button and button housing) provided I return mine (because they are out of the long buttons). Hey man... that works for me because I still have my old tact switch. So now I'm vaping with my old tact switch... the new switch is in the mail... and I have a ton of juice, adapters, and atty's to play with - life is good. I was realizing how much a missed the smooth operation of my tact switch...reminiscing all the times we've spent together... in the car...long vapes on the beach... in the bed... wait, what the hell is burning me?! YEAH... the switch just fried... but it fried in the closed position (always on) and made a nice little popping sound. No, it wasn't the battery popping... it was the brand new atty dying. Damn. At least I have more.... and I have my old 510 batteries right?! NO! They have long since been scrapped into mods that were given to friends.
Another order was placed today... for a 510 connector, battery box, LED and switch. Moral of the story.... always have a backup.

I ordered the parts from Madvapes. It makes getting parts for a basic nicostick easier than running to radioshack and hardware stores. If you have any questions, Mark (the owner) is very helpful. They also have a few basic tutorials for people new to modding. You can build a standard nicostick for less than $9. Not nearly as refined as a Protege... but it will do well in a pinch - certainly better than stock e-cig batteries.
