Just came back from the annual vacation in Greece where as every year had the chance to see all my good friends. Imeo, Vasilis, Stelioss, Zantos to name but a few.
Of course I had the chance to pick up personally my Esterigon and Iatty mini ESG from Vasilis (before we went out drinking). What a great little mod it is, simple with great design as always and excellent performance. I did a volt drop test myself (yes I'm aware of all the limitations) and found that Esterigon has quite insignificant loss. On a 0.7 ohm coil I showed on average (over 6 measurements) 0.16v which is pretty damn impressive considering the bottom contact is SS and not brass. I did the test with a Sony VTC5 freshly off the charger.
The button operation is smooth and extremely responsive and the locking mechanism is simple and ingenious.

I know that Imeo has perhaps been accused by reviewers in the past of making complex mods/atties with many parts but frankly this latest creation is so simple I would highly and unoquivically recommend it to even a beginner. I didn't find much that can really go wrong with Esterigon other than perhaps your normal use cleaning of threads and contacts. However having said that the thing is so easy to take apart and clean that I would rank it easier than a GGTS or a JustGG.

My gripe with my buddy Imeo was why 21mm when most non GG atties which many users have are 22mm but after I've used it now for about 8 days I can say that it's a really comfortable size (see comparison image to JustGG) and having on there a 22mm or even 23mm atty is no issue whatsoever.

Fitting of batteries was absolutely fine with all of mine which I tried with the exception of one 18500 AW IMR which I had to remove the little AW silver oval sticker.

We did discuss one or two possible future improvements for Esterigon and I'll let him tell you in his own time about that.

Imeo was kind enough to let me have his Prototype Tilemaxos to try and I can tell you that it sits beautifully on Esterigon with an almost hybrid look. I've taken a "sneak peek" photo for you but did some blurring as this is still only a prototype. First impressions are good but I'll leave it at that as this is something Imeo will show you when he's ready. I'll just say that you will like very much what he's come up with.

Imeo has done some incredible progress with Proteus and I think he's going to make our wait well worth it.

I'll let you know my impressions of the Iatty mini ESG version in a few days with some pictures as I only had the chance to briefly vape it just once at Vasilis's store.

All in all I had a great time with good friends, amazing food and beautiful Greek sunny beaches.

What a nice review Steve , thx a lot !!! also i see you got the wings, who else has to have wings on its mod if not our GG capt !!!

Thanks guys but the magic comes from Imeo, we just get to enjoy his great creations and perhaps inspire him to give us more great stuff.
I was just sad to hear people like Todd who I always watch and enjoy his videos say that Esterigon is only for GG lovers. I don't agree with that statement at all now that I had the chance to test it for myself. I respect his personal opinion if it's honest but I personally feel that few mods have such easy features like Esterigon.
The fact alone that the user doesn't need to do anything else but screw on his atty to get it to sit flush is a great feature. Why don't more modders take the time to provide such features instead of putting a screw the user must set in order not to get battery rattle.

Sadly it seems that what we watch as "honest" reviews aren't always that "honest" or perhaps open to influence.

Hi guys, sorry for the n00b question, but hey I'm a n00b :) Do I need to/should I/can I use a Kick 2 Evolv with my Esterigon and the 18500 tube and battery?

I don't know about should but I have tried the 18650 tube with an Efest 18500 and a kick and it works. However there are a couple drawbacks. One because both of the tube have inner threads you want to be carefull putting it in. This leads to the second drawback IMHO. Which is that it is best to change batteries from the bottom.

This is all jmho and it does work and work very well. Even though I only use my JGG kicked I will personally be using mine unregulated untill one of the GG solutions come to market.

CaptSteve try in the other side of the tube.
I don't have kick V2 but my Spanish friends have it and they can put in the tubes.

I have used ecigs exclusively for 5 years (since 2009). In my humble opinion, one does not need a kick to use Esterigon.

I'm not saying it's a bad feature to have. To each his own, I don't want to start any arguments.

I always thought that a VV/VW mod is what I needed to get the best vape. And for those who buy ejuice from vendors, a VV/VW device can work wonders...weather that is an Esterigon with a kick or some other VV/VW device.

But lets stick to talking about the Esterigon.

It is the hardest hitting mech mod I've ever owned. I haven't taken it apart to clean since I got it...at least not yet.

I don't own a kick so it would be unfair for me to comment on it's performance. Who knows? Maybe I'm really missing out on a good thing by not having a kick in my Esterigon.

But...and this is a big BUT...I think good vapor and TH can be achieved without a kick.

It all comes down to the type of atomizer and type of juice you use. (Along with a good battery and of course... Esterigon.)

For the atty, I use a Penelope RBA. Made by the same creator of Esterigon.

There is a fine balance of building the right ohm coil, and the type of juice you use. When I say 'type of juice', I'm talking about how much PG/VG is mixed in the juice, not really talking about the flavor here. Although some flavors can be a factor.

I mix my own juice and I add more PG to my mix than VG. About 65% PG and 35% VG. I must state that PG gives more TH and less visible vapor, and VG gives lots of clouds but less TH. I'm not a cloud chaser, but I still get decent clouds with this mix.

I make about a .07-.09 ohm coil using 32g wire in my Penelope (32G wire heats quickly). If I were to have juice that had more VG in it, than I would want to make a lower ohm coil for more TH to my personal taste. And if the juice was all VG then I would go even lower on my coil ohms, probably even using a 28 or 30g wire.

If I made a 2.0 Ohm coil to use on Esterigon, then I would want to use a kick, regardless of what juice I was vaping, because there would simply not be enough power to get the vaping satisfaction I'm looking for.

Basically a kick or other VV/VW device opens the doors to make any coil you want, regardless of juice. You can 'up' the power or 'lower' it to your satisfaction. But if you know the techniques as I have briefly described, then a mech mod is all you need. Just make sure it's a reliable powerhouse mech mod, like the Esterigon. :)

I still have my own VV/VW devices, and with constant rebuilding of coils, it took me a couple years to figure this out on my own.

Happy Vaping, regardless of what you use.

Sad Society I fully agree with you in that you certainly don't need VW to get a great vape. The only thing that a VW device or a kick achieves for you is that the first hit and the last hit when the battery finally drains are exactly the same.

A pure mechanical device starts off great when the battery is fully charged and eventually gradually weakens the hit as the battery voltage drops. With the kick or a VW device you set the watts you want and it stays the same all the way through until the battery drains
