Words are very powerful things. It is amazing how fast they spread and how much they form public opinion.
It might seem like a very small thing, but it seems to me that A.S.H. has crossed a line and become a hate group. From "promoting the rights of non smokers" which is where they started, they have clearly moved to simply hating smokers. Smokers are people.
People who have been marginalized, barred from some jobs, places of entertainment and even barred from renting houses. In fact to the very best of my knowledge they are the only group of people who CAN be banned from renting a house on the basis of a belief or personal habit. The rights of non smokers have not been met in the way that the rights of any other group has been met, rather their rights have been met by removing the rights of another group entirely. Would women have been given the right to vote if it meant that men could not? Yet the rights of non smokers have been advanced to such an insane degree that smokers have been marginalized, criminalized, and had their rights ridiculously curtailed. It has not stopped with non smokers having rights, it has progressed to smokers having none..and all of this because of fear mongering over second hand smoke... a claim that has been yelled from the rooftops but never actually proven. But the yelling has been enough for the vast majority of people, even smokers, to believe it is true.

The most recent proof of ASH's status as a simple hate group is that they now have come out against something because it "looks like" smoking. I think this has been glossed over, but if truth be told, I believe its their main horror.

We really need to take a close look at any organization that can spew so much vitriol because something "looks like" something else.

ASH is exactly like PETA, a radical group. Only their tactics are different.
And they not only are "promoting the rights of non smokers", but deconstructing the rights of smokers and demonizing the typical smoker as a child abuser.
Can't get any more radical than that.

Yep, mad... as... hell! I wasnt politically active at all, hate politics actually, but the last year or 2 is changing all that. Next year im sure as spit going to register and vote, Im going to excercize that right like theres no tomorrow. Im defidently not the only one who feels this way, so there is hope hopefully

Good luck with that I've been registered and voting since I was 18, there are no real choices.
One of the reasons for my videos. They're starting to slowly go viral slowly. Hopefully eventually I'll be like that dude that smashes cheap Chinese made products with a baseball bat while he vents on how ****ty the USA is becoming. He's got quite a following.

I just read all 5 pages of this thred and i have to say if i was still smoking i would have had at least 3 analogs by the end. and one now as i was typing. this has gotin to the point of insanity. i could fill a hole page with quotes on what i agree on but if your reading this you already know them.
as smokers we took the loss of our liberties in stride because the media made us out to be villians. we cant let that happen again. all we are doing is finding a way to better ourselves; and protect the ones around us. we have solved the smoking and second hand smoke problem. that leaves the anti smokers with nothing to yell from there apple boxes. some people feel the need to control others and we have removed there ammo.

Sun thank you for the research and explanation of who ASH is. The more information you give, the more depressed I get. This just is not sounding good.
Sharon--it is very depressing. We are dealing with very powerful, well organized, and established entities. It really goes to show you how uneven the deck is stacked againt the e-cig even if testing shows it to be reasonable safe.
Logic and reason go out the window when a product does not square with the agenda of these "entities".
