Wanted to see what all the hype is all about ordered two smy DNA75. How do I know they won't put a bootleg chip in it lol? These will be my first DNA mods and I will try out temp control on them for the very first time
Fasttech? No bootleg chip. Just received my silver one and nice quality build.
Vapes just like a 200. Daniels pre-programming won't last long on mine but it has survived a day so far.
Thought it looked silly with that stupid horn but it does fall pretty naturally between index & middle finger and does make it easier to hold without the rubber coating on the red & black ones

Though i'm pretty sure you're joking, you'll know the second you hook it up to Escribe, as a clone chip won't/can't interact with the software (if there even are clone 75's out there).

Why not? Just curious.

What's the "pre-programming"?

Wires and TCRs ? Heating profiles?
More?

Both of mine arrive tomorrow (75 & 133)... I should download Escribe and get to learnin'. :p
New materials tab eliminates need for dedicated wire specific profiles.

He has it set up using one profile for Power mode, six for varying levels of TC Preheat (from 0-75), and one called old TC.

I already backed it up in case I choose to restore it later, but I can consolidate those 7 presets into less than half that to suit my needs and dedicate the freed up ones to atty specific.

Download the DNA75 version as the 200 version will not work with the 75.

Grabbed the 75 version.

ATM I'm stuck ona now very old Lenovo convertible. I actually like a lot about it, especially the weight with it sitting on my knees, but it's underpowered and very short on resources.

The Escribe d/l and install was painless and it's napping in the background.
Using no CPU and only ~15MB... nice.
No attempts to "call home", no whining as it polls an empty USB.
Quite well behaved software I'd say.

We'll see how it performs at live fire data capture, and display, though. That might be rough.

I'd have liked to d/l whatever the "Get Information" for each model, perhaps it populates the profiles, but it wont without the mod(s) connected. Alas... too bad, so sad. :D

For now... I'll see what I can do. :p

This lappy is semi-borked but no choice ATM.

I have an old(er) Firefox but I'm not seeing changes to the graph when I change wire type and it's not showing a d/l'd CSV in the target folder.

Hmmm.
I just quit running Firefox v23 because it just wasn't working with most websites anymore. But if you want to try something cool and won't mess up your machine, there is a portable Firefox too. You can run it from your hard drive, flash, or whatever.

Just getting started, but...

The Monitor won't display live temp, just set temp. ???

Getting used to how to move through the different "locked" screens to adjust power and temp on the fly. Much to learn, no real consolidated manual or resource found yet.
You pillocks wouldn't give or direct me to a "set-up guide" because you're waiting for someone else to write one, and laughing. Admit it. :p

Can't say I'm a fan of the batt cap.
Threaded is bad enough, but I've never had an adjustable mech... not sure how tight to make that center screw (glad this DNA has reverse polarity protection, couldn't find the battery orientation anywhere).

Need a break before I start thinking about profiles.
It strikes me as more "specific build/atty" oriented than the Wire Type TC Mode I'm used to.
Only because I don't know yet what happens to in-mod changes when you connect back up to Escribe and start moving saved settings around.

But I did say to a complainer about power settings not carrying over between Modes and TCR mem slots (VTC, Pico RX etc.) that "for full parameter user presets, you'll probably need to go with a DNA". :D
