For my DNA200, I'm running "2016-02-29 EScribe 1.0.42". This was the last test version, running well. With my SMY DNA75 coming, I wanted to install the latest version of ESCRIBE, that works with both the 200's, and 75's.

On the Evolv forums, "MikePetro" says:
"However, make sure you are not running the DNA200 2016-04-25 firmware (which was beta FW). If you are then please roll back to the 2016-02-23 firmware.

The most recent "released" version of DNA200 FW you that you should run is 2016-02-23".

Wondering if I can install the latest Escribe DNA75 version "1.0.56", OVER my current "1.0.42" version, and NOT lose my previous settings, or is it absolutely necessary to roll back further to the older "2016-02-23"? Or am I confusing Escribe versions and firmware versions? Confused!

I believe you are confusing Escribe versions with firmware versions. If you download the 1.0.56 Escribe it works with both the 200 and 75. It will install over your old Escribe 1.0.42. Just make sure when you install it you don't have the old one open.

Cheers,
Steve

You're Welcome!
Here's a couple of snippets from Evolvs forum:
From BillW50
"This one is v1.0.56.0.
SetupES_2016-05-06_DNA75.exe <- This link will download the latest version."

This from VapingBad on the next post
"EScribe works with both, but that only has dna 75 fw included with it, if you have installed a previous dna 200 version it will find the fw from all previous installs for both boards."

Cheers,
Steve

Exactly two weeks, SMY SDNA75 arrived today from FT.

Basically it's the same size as my Evic VTC Mini's. Feels a little heavier. Rubberized coating, like a VaporShark. Fits in my hand, probably better then all my other mods, I like the little top jutting out slightly ala pistol grip, perfect for thumb firing. What can I say about a DNA75 board, the BEST!

Only niggle so far is the top surface of the 510 sits a little higher then the top of the mod, so I can see a little space between Atty and mod, but this should keep the atty from digging into the rubber finish. I use those plastic mod saver disks on all my mods anyways. You have to hold it up to a light source and look closely to see the gap. There is no wobble with my large and tall kayfun v5 on top, so it's not an issue for me.

In PBusardo's last video yesterday of the Pico, he said he was going to get started on reviewing some DNA75 mods, the SMY has been in his review que for awhile.

So far looks like a winner!

Lovin my SDNA75. I've had for almost a month now. FYI, I've slid an old Evic Mini sleeve on it even though it's rubberized. Even though the window cutout isn't perfect, it's not blocking any information. I copied Daniel's profiles but will change this to match my other DNA's so they all have the same look and feel. Black for now, red one stuck in the mail somewhere.

Awesome, I have the red, black and bare silver coming on the slow boat. I've been recommending this one due to its small size (Evic Mini small), and the DNA75 chip. It's had to beat. If I had seen this first, I would have passed on the two Wismec RX75's I bought.

We seem to follow each other around it seems. I just wish it were 2mm wider at the 510, tapered down so it would fit larger atty's without overhang. My 2nd I believe is black or red (asked for red) as I won it from SMY's homepage where they gave away 5. That's on a very slow boat from China, with a pending postal strike up here.

    Indeed we do!

I never bought an Atty larger then 22mm. Congrats on WINNING one, that's cool! Puffing on my red one now, I saved all of DLJSB's settings, then installed my own. Kept his battery info only. He went over all the settings, in his first look, but since he set it up for SMY, didn't do a full review. His settings were very Stainlees steel heavy, guess that's his favorite wire.

With the new materials tab the material can be changed in any preset so it was material independent. All his programming amounted to was setting up different levels of preheat for people who would or could not use a computer to set it up themselves so they could use the mod out of the box.

Yeah, looked at all the preheats etc. to be honest I've never been able to wrap my head around those. At least with the tanks and coils I use, when I press the button on my DNA 200/75's, I get instant vapor. Many swear by the preheat option, someday when I have the time, I'll have to due some testing. But as those settings are not changeable "yet", directly on the mod itself, I imagine I'd have to test Vape the mods while connected to Escribe, and then change them, and then upload, and Vape again. Maybe I'd notice a difference. At least the rest of Escribe makes sense to me.

While connected to Escribe, go to device monitor and vape. Your power applied should be the green trace IIRC & you will see the preheat spike. Temp of coil should be red trace. Idea is to activate mod & set preheat to drive coil up to yor set temp without exceeding.

What battery do you actually use? If you set it up for your specific battery, your meter will be more accurate. And, although 18650's can go down to 2.5v, you should set that for 2.9v
actually the 75 doesn't fuel gauge like the 200. evolv couldn't do it because the 75 doesn't have a host controlled analog front end like the 200 does. the meter works off just the batt voltage. i ran battery analyzer for my LG HD2C batts (which i highly recommend) on my sdna 75 with little to no change in how my battery meter behaves. i can watch the meter drop a few % after a puff and a couple secs later watch it climb back up a few % because the batt voltage is settling. oh well, maybe there's another reason for having batt analyzer on the 75 that i'm missing.

It was added during the beta testing because people requested a way to test their batteries.

SO, is this a good place to ask for settings? Am a bit confused as its my first DNA and still trying to work things out.
    Device?

Edit: Just realized it is the SDNA75. Daniel pretty much has it set up to use. When you hook up to Escribe you will see what he did. Recommend saving the initial programming to a file before you modify.

What do you want to change?
