I just quit running Firefox v23 because it just wasn't working with most websites anymore. But if you want to try something cool and won't mess up your machine, there is a portable Firefox too. You can run it from your hard drive, flash, or whatever.

Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition | PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB, portable and cloud drives

You still had FF v23??? I'm up to v47.

As a side note regarding eScribe, as a new dna user, it really is fun to play with! I could probably spend more time fiddling and collating data with it than vaping. Extra long USB cables save the day.

Just getting started, but...

The Monitor won't display live temp, just set temp. ???

Getting used to how to move through the different "locked" screens to adjust power and temp on the fly. Much to learn, no real consolidated manual or resource found yet.
You pillocks wouldn't give or direct me to a "set-up guide" because you're waiting for someone else to write one, and laughing. Admit it. :p

Can't say I'm a fan of the batt cap.
Threaded is bad enough, but I've never had an adjustable mech... not sure how tight to make that center screw (glad this DNA has reverse polarity protection, couldn't find the battery orientation anywhere).

Need a break before I start thinking about profiles.
It strikes me as more "specific build/atty" oriented than the Wire Type TC Mode I'm used to.
Only because I don't know yet what happens to in-mod changes when you connect back up to Escribe and start moving saved settings around.

But I did say to a complainer about power settings not carrying over between Modes and TCR mem slots (VTC, Pico RX etc.) that "for full parameter user presets, you'll probably need to go with a DNA". :D
If you click the Temperature Dominate box you will have the Temp in the big screen and it's live temp (at least that's the way the DNA200 works). You can click it for each individual profile (I have it selected for my TC profiles, not for my Power profile)

If I were you I'd look to see if anyone has dumped the settings from the SMY DNA75. Import that in and head over and watch DJLsb's video on it. He created the settings for that mod and made it so you shouldn't need too much from the software.

Gawd I hope you're putting that out there for inexperienced technophobes... I know how to check a box. Jeez... we've had comp discussions. :p

Besides, I found the problem...

I had grabbed the Bachelor Nano off the VTC where its been running just fine for weeks.
However... the build is a simple parallel 26g 316 coil.

Neither of the VTs (75 &133) care for the parallel build... AT ALL.

Who knew a highly accurate device could be so... picky.
:p

Grabbed the full size with just a straight 24g single and both VTs not only show the live temp graph, the vape is working as I had been expecting. I had been upping the temp with the parallel, wondering just how off all of my JTechs were. o_O

It does bring back a question I asked many months ago, October maybe, and no one ever actually answered... how does our "res as thermometer" TC actually function with multiple coils?
The mod can't know that res rise is split across multiple wires.

Perhaps the quick and dirty answer is... "poorly".

I honestly thought maybe you didn't check the box. I only run dual parallel coils in my DNA200's (mostly Aromamizer Supremes). My graph and TC work just fine (I'm at 420F). I just couldn't figure out why you weren't getting a live reading.

It should have worked, it just doesn't.
It's the build unless something physical in the atty is causing it, but it reads solid.

I've set it aside to drain the deck so I can just put a straight coil in.
I could probably check it first and find who knows what in the way of hot spots/legs, it was just a spur of the moment decision to do it anyway... I hadn't run a parallel all year.

I may twist some later but for now... bare nekkid single it is. :p

As I think I wrote back then, it's the resistance change in relation to the initial resistance so the number of coils doesn't matter at all. Not at all. What will have an effect is if there are discrepancies between the coils.

Here is a Mod Settings dump of the SMY SDNA75 but I wouldn't copy it directly to any other mod as the mod resistance & Thermal settings may vary. You could easily open it in Escribe and see what he did & duplicate it on your own though.

Thanks.

It's always a crapshoot trying to save a file on this machine (it will no longer d/l updates and Restore is borked)... and today is not looking great.

It saved (yay), looked good in the folder and Escribe sees it... but, "Unsupported File Format".

Bollocks.

It's not critical ATM as I managed to grab both Kanthal and SS316L from S-E and that's all I'm using right now.

Two things I should do (ok, three)...

I should find the Thermal and Res settings for both the VT75 and 133 (I believe it was Steve who posted one of the res values).

I should try this snazzy "Atomizer Analyzer" on the dodgy parallel build (I didn't tear it down yet... hey, it works on the VTC ;) ). Any cautions? It's not a two hour process right? :p

And I should start writing down the factory installed presets for the two mods.
The newer 75 came with a fairly useable selection... various set-ups for Ni, a Ti and Pwr.
The older stock 133... not so much. Half were just generic Ni duplicated. :(

But I'm not yet used to where the 'name' data fields display on the mod.

All in all... both mods work, and work well, they're just not "tuned" yet. :)

Here's my settings for the VT133 so you don't have to go looking for them :)

Really? Try downloading it again. I just downloaded, saved it and brought it into Escribe without issue. I'm using the DNA75 version of the software though. That may have something to do with it.

Thank you for the nudge... like a sleep deprived tool I used right click "save target as..." instead of opening the Google Drive page.

Works a treat and lots of good ideas to examine. :)

Oooooh... Tungsten. :p

i just reworked all of daniel's profile settings as well. i found they really didn't suit my style or made much sense for my style of vaping. i did save everything before reworking tho. i also left mod res and case thermals alone. those two areas seem to be working just fine for TC.

He had a couple of good ideas in there as well as an attempt to preheat in power mode & having a couple profiles dedicated to generic preheat settings makes sense, but no reason to take up all the slots with it. Good for a DNA newbie to get started, but not anything you want to lock yourself into.
