Hmm, too bad, I guess he gets lots of email.

Not sure what he chose for the SDNA, but on the files I downloaded from his website for the VT200 he uses a different custom curve. I had both profiles on my VT at the exact same settings so I could just switch between them to compare them & the difference in performance is pretty clear.

The only comparison I did was the Escibe Titaniums G1 preset, on one of my SDNA75's, and the Titanium preset on a new SDNA75 with Dans settings. vape was the same. It would be interesting to know if he changed all the standard presets that are normally now included within Escibe or not. There is no easy way to get the overall TCR of an existing TCR file, I asked this question on the Escibe forum. You can do a lot of math to figure it out, was the answer. It's too bad an excepted naming convention was not adopted, so that at least the name of a TCR included the BASE number of the TCR, like "Titanium G1 0.035". I have done this with TCR's downloaded from SteamEngine. But downloading TCR's that users create and offer, it's up to that user to name them differently then the stock settings. Hope I'm clear on this.

Yeah, it seems like it's a small design flaw in the software, not showing us the value that's used I mean. Hopefully they'll change this in a future software or firmware update but I suspect they would have already done so if it's technically possible.

Oh well, I'm just glad I got it to work the way I like it. I'd already put the mod up for sale again but I'm thinking about keeping it now. It's starting to grow on me.

So how do you guys proceed after getting the dna-virus? It appears all other chips are less desirable all of a sudden, lol

You don't really want the answer but I'll tell you. I had a bunch of plans for vapocolypse. I was just going to get a bunch of cheap mods. Pico's maybe some Smoks, maybe some joytechs. Just a bunch of mods that I could cheaply stock up on. I had about 4-5 mods. But then I got ...... at the meltdown on the Sig 213 after I got it Paid about $90 for it. I decide it was time to get a really good home mod and started kind of high with a Axis M-17. After that it was all over. That was 3 months ago. Now including things I am still waiting for I have 11 DNA's. 5 75's and 6 200's.

If you want to compare TCR values change the name of the new ones so you know which is which and load them into EScribe. Then using Material tab screen highlight the one in EScribe and note the graph then highlight the same material on the mod, if there is a difference the graph will show it.

Haha, yeah, I'm kinda trying to avoid going down a similar path myself :)

I had set myself a 5-mod limit when this hobby started to become more serious just to keep myself in check, but I'm already up to 4 now so I have to choose wisely what to keep and what to get next.

I never vape above 40W so I was thinking of selling the VT200 and replace it with a DNA75 of some sort but I'm not so sure if that's the way to go now. Apparently you loose some settings on the 75 in comparison to the 200 board? I'm starting to think I should get a 133 with dual 18650 instead to have something with great battery life while keeping all the options I have on the VT200 now but I keep going back and forth. Maybe I should just get rid of some of my cheaper mods & get both a 75 and 133, lol.

But he came out with a list of 510 lengths of attys and they are not even close to what what the manufactures and I measured.

Sad to hear, but good information.
I had been under the impression that only a smaller percentage were out of spec and that was being chalked up to him possibly having non-finalized review samples in the mix.

I'll stop promoting his data set. Thanks.

I found too many differences with my own measurements as well...

More confirmation... thanks.

So, minute measurements of physical dimensions.
Maybe I'll buy something for that, some tool... what would that be called?

:p

While I have two VT75's I think my DNA purchases will stop there. I don't dip into restricted 'toodle puffing' far enough to notice any difference in smoothness of the delivered vapor and I'm not exactly fond of having to use a Winderz computer to set the things up.

My two VT's still have tanks mounted and are still in service however I tend to favor my Wismec TC100 (with 1ohm NiFe flatwire build that the VT's don't like) over the VT's.

I'm actually kinda excited about the dual 26650 mod arriving Monday.

So I sat down and downloaded the csv from steam engine for 316L. Added it and played around on escribe till it felt better to vape on...hopefully it works better this time. But if some of you have any ideas on how the graphs should work, it would be great. If I have a better understanding of what to focus on , on the graphs, things could be easier to set up.

One part of the graph I look at is how smoothly the temperature is being regulated. Here is a graph of SS316. Note the circled-in-blue section of the graph. It shows the temp regulation as temp is reached and maintained. You can see on the left side of the screenshot which functions you want to be displayed on the graph as they are checked in each box.

That's interesting and probably the only way to look for a difference. But unless you do the math, you still don't know the overall TCR value that the graph represents. I'll have to try it for fun, I assume you have to toggle quickly, or take a screen shot.

Don't sell your DNA200, the downside of the DNA75's, is the 6 volt limit, and you may change your Vape style and needs someday!

I'm trying to think of what that could be.

There are some new developments this week with the release of a new 200w version of Escribe, but the advantage goes the other way...

The 75w version had two pairs of settings for the 3 lines on the left... one pair for TC wire and one pair for Power Mode (ie: what to display while Firing or Charging). That is now available for the 133/200s as well.

The 75 had some differences to the TC of 316... apparently substantialy smoother than the 133/200. That also has been incorporated into the new version.

And the new version now handles all the boards (60, 75, 200, 250).
Haven't tried it yet, but Steve likes it (smoothed out his 316 on the VT133s).

Got this DIGITAL CALIBER from Amazon, you will see this exact same type with other branding.

I wouldn't discount Dans findings so quickly, the ones I've measured are very close to his, once you have the TOOL, you'll see how difficult it is to measure these dimensions on a 510!

Thanks... it's a new running joke between OTA and myself. The other day, I couldn't even find a tape measure, let alone calipers. :p

I almost bought a digital a week ago while placing an FT order but included batts kills the delivery time. I've since looked at some of Amazon's selection and noticed the better reviews on those iGauge models, though I still need to see if their pricing being double (at budget levels, ~$30 vs. $15) is justified for my needs (virtually non-existent).

Maybe I am biased, as I have been using calibers and micrometers most of my life. And accurate readings and ease of use just seems so cut and dry to me.

Ah, there's the enabler who started all this, I was wondering when you would chime in. I was perfectly happy with my 30 dollar mods until you started poking me! :-x

I think you need one of these?

Ah ok, that doesn't sound too bad then, back to the drawing board it is.

I haven't really looked in to it but was under the impression the Escribe version for the 75 was a bit simplified based on what I saw mentioned here and there. Thanks for clearing that up, saves me a lot of research, lol

Is the new version finalized yet or is it still in a beta-phase?

Sound like your immune system is strong enough to resist the DNA, a rare thing from what I gather ;)

Being a Mac user probably helps though, that's not something I'll ever be.

Is there no Escribe version for Ubuntu/Linux by the way?

I've seen that dual 26650 thing, it looks nice but also freakin' huge! I'm afraid I'd need two hands to use one of those, lol

Don't sell your DNA200, the downside of the DNA75's, is the 6 volt limit, and you may change your Vape style and needs someday!

If I do sell it I'll replace it with a 133, but I think I'll hang on to it for now even though it's larger than I like and battery life pretty much sucks for something this size.

I do think it needs at least one relative to keep it company though ;)

See, the truth finally comes out. @Jim_ MDP always calls me the enabler when it was him all along.:D:lol:

Ah... that's the "pen" style one you mentioned.
Didn't realize it was an actual pen too. :D

Is the new version finalized yet or is it still in a beta-phase?

    I'd say it's Beta-ish for now.
Some are reporting glitching of the 2A charging on some VaporSharks. It's ongoing, we'll see.
Don't own any so I'm not following the discussion.
And some claim it locks into "max-puffs" selection vs. "max charge cycles". Again... we'll see.

I haven't connected any of mine for a week or so... maybe later today I'll check it out.
But I'm not expecting any problems with my VT133s, VT75 and SDNAs... your 200w with LiPo may be different.

Doesn't look like it bricks anything though, you can try it or wait... they'll square it away soon.
