So if one was currently in the market for a dna 30 device, are you advising to wait a bit?

And if so, theoretically how long should one wait........theoretically speaking?

;-);-):sneaky:

To be honest, even the beta team doesnt know the release date, and we are bound by a NDA not to speak of it if/when we do.

My sincere recommendation would be as Retird suggested, plan for both. Get the DNA30 now, and plan another even greater mod for the new board.

Consider this, when the new board is released, it will likely be in short supply for a while as Evolv fills the large orders from their established Modders, you know, the ones that will order a thousand plus. Whatever (if any) stock is diverted towards the individual retail channel will sell out overnight, just like it did with the DNA30. While not certain, it is a distinct possibility that these boards will be hard to get for a while.

Good point.......

Your post made me think to check Evolv's web site...... nothing showing there yet (didn't expect to see anything) but I read their mission statement again..... in part:

We are continuously innovating and developing new products for the growing e-cigarette market. We look forward to bringing these exciting new devices to the vaping community and serving your vaping needs now and into the future.

Except that you've already told Brandon that you need 200 or them for your next coop, right? :D

Now, about that charging board . . . Think there's a chance they'll maybe make at least a 1 amp with the same form as the current? Those Tibs duals take forever to charge . . .

I asked Brandon about it a few months back and he said that they are looking at it, but other priorities are ahead of it, for example this new board.

Oh goodness, how the heck are they determining temperature? Using the 510 and monitoring change????? Oh, I guess I'll wait....
Most conductors have a "temperature coefficient"; their resistance changes with temperature, some metals/alloys much more than others. In principle, that resistance change could be used to determine temperature.

Depending on how they do this, this could be a big thing with microwave cooking. You won't have to wonder about what watts you're oven is, just the food temp.

I wonder if juices will start coming out with different flavor profiles at different temps on the label, like coffee roasting profiles:
"Clean and crisp, this lot from XYZ Ejuice is a crowd pleaser in balance and sweetness. Raw sugar, red apple and plum, the heated vapor is juicy in both flavor and mouthfeel and throat hit.. There is an underlying nuttiness too, that is never overpowering, but adds complexity. Higher temperatures have a pleasing cocoa powder/bittersweet chocolate flavor too. 300 to 400 degrees."

How cool that would be.... just think.... no more burnt taste (and who knows what chemical reaction from over heating).... and a temperature range to get the best flavor/vapor.... ain't it great that vaping is still EVOLVing (pun intended....) LOL Maybe that could actually come about... who knows....

Agreed, this new technology WORKS! It is not smoke and mirrors, it works and works better than any board I have ever used. I have been testing the board for a couple weeks now and I can not set it down. The only time I am using anything else is when the battery is charging.
Can you explain HOW it is better? I see it being a cool feature, but with the vape I'm getting from my DNA30 and SX350, I just can't see how the QUALITY of vape can get any better? I wish evolve would put this much R&D into a tank or atty. that is where I think things can be improved.

This just in from "he who shall not be named"

Its officially the DNA40 by Evolv. This new chip will allow you to go to 40 watts and set how hot your vape will go in terms of temperature. The new chip will be Vaporshark and Hana.

This is an imminent release - they are IN PRODUCTION and will be out before Christmas.

DNA40 - Bank on it.

Much more predictable, no chance of a dry hit, VERY repeatable. I cant give out specs, but I have a half dozen DNA30s laying around and this new board beats the others out, I only use the old DNA30s as backup now, and I have some damn good DNA30 Mods.
