I'll second that, it is easier, different but easy.
Maybe easy for you.
I need a tutor. A video. A pictorial.

Just wrap some wire around a 16 gauge needle, a small drill bit, or some other smooth stick. Heck even a ballpoint pen refill will work.
I need to get the wire first...
Brandon says that the A1 is easier to work with--have you used it?
Does it need to be torched first? No microcoils? How many wraps????
I have used lots of the Kanthal, and yes I torch mine before I wrap, and again after if I am squeezing it into a microcoil.
But all of that will come with time. First get the wire and just do a few basic coils to get the feel for it. Once yu can knock out a basic coil watch a video on microcoils.
I thought Brandon and Phil recommended loose wraps--not microcoils--with nickel.
And what gauge wire is best? Does it matter?
They like theirs their way, I like mine my way. Its all good. Again, whatever works for you.
Most of the beta team found 28g, 30g, and 32g to work well.
Just to add..... I can count the number of coils I've built on 2 hands (and a few fingers left over)....used 28,30,32g during the beta test but I'm just waiting for the premade Aspires, etc. to come about... I like it simple and fiddle free... he-he...They like theirs their way, I like mine my way. Its all good. Again, whatever works for you.

GREAT kwestions, Kat/ya/ya! And wonderful replies. I'm quite interested to follow this innovation and everyone's experiences (she said whilst vaping her "OBSOLETE" D'win......).
I'm with ya, and Iya, r.
Yep....vaping technology just keeps on improving and changing....always something new just around the corner......heck I've got an obsolete Darwin that's somewhere around 3 years old (or so) and I still use it weekly so, to me, obsolete doesn't necessarily mean useless.....![]()
Hey Kat - now don't say thatI LOVE THE DARWIN and always will I just have some more love to show around to my Opus D and my Hana - it all GOOD and Evolv

With temperature regulation one thing you find is the build is more forgiving. It can be pretty messy and still work just fine because it does not rely on the thermal transfer between coils to heat up quickly, and it is monitoring its own temperature. I tried vaping a straight piece of wire and it worked ...
Also because it is soft, you can for example wrap freehand directly over silica wick without a mandrel. this made rebuilding a kanger head easier.

Now I'm listening more intently. I don't do any coil building, but WHAT? a straight piece of wire did it? Wow. Keep talkin', doc.![]()
