1. The nickel heats up so I'd guess that you can clean it the same way.
You'd have to turn temperature limiting off first.

2. if the dna40 knows the type of wire being used and kanthal is present then it makes since that the answer would be No. However, that being said, just what is the dna40 board picking up on since two types of wires are being used even if they are connected (often with a 3rd metal).
What it looks for is a change of resistance when it applies some power to the coil. I don't see any reason you couldn't use traditional NR-R-NR wires with a DNA40, it just won't run in temperature controlled mode using such wires 'cause there will not be much resistance change. If I had any atties that requires NR-R-NR wires (which I don't), I might try making such wires with Ni200 as the R portion and silver as the NR portion. I *think* this would work.

Hana dna 40 mods are going on sale for $250 on Tuesday.

DNA40 HANA MODZ
these are showing sold out on the site; link doesn't work; had to go to store site Hyerion vape.

I'm more interested in the Flask w/dna40 sure to be out soon, but never enough to ensure getting one.

Are they allowed to sell them before Tuesday? Protovapor has said the XPV DNA40 will be up on there site sometime Tuesday.

Interesting--the link stopped working. I Googled them again and can't access the site either.

Sorry, the website shop.hyperionvape.com cannot be found

Earlier today they showed a bunch of colors, $250 price and the notice that they are sold out but will be available on Tuesday.

Can we just go back to this for a minute, please? :)

Yeppers.... a new thread could be started in this sub-forum just as this one was started..... really a great idea to have a thread specifically for the DNA40D ..... go for it gals......

This thread was just started for general discussion of any Evolv technology....

Oh, by the way..... some talk floating about in the beta group something about "Vaping's sexiest man for 2014"......any idea what that's about...... :)

Nope, retird, but you can bet your sweet nekkid karto I'm ALLLLLL over it. Yep, I'm a "beta" tester, too. ;)

Ok, now please.... do return to boy talk. :D

I honestly don't understand why women interested in science are never taken seriously here... :D

So... Do we already have (or going to have) a place for discussing nickel wire coil building for different RBAs? Tutorials? Pictures? Tips? I have to admit that I can't figure out how that nickel wire is supposed to work in real life. Brandon didn't explain that part very well. ;)

I'm probably going to wait for that 25-watt chip, but I would like see what people are doing ATM.

Hana DNA 40 mods are going on sale for $250 on Tuesday.

DNA40 HANA MODZ

I wonder how much cheaper the 25s will be.

Probably won't be a big difference in the price as the only difference in the cost will be the lower cost of the 25 watt board....just my best guess....

Probably not. :D

From my understanding the Official release date is Tuesday thus the vendors are in a rush to get them built ahead of the release date. The production boards post beta testing have had a short time frame to produce the boards, ship them to the companies making the various mods, and etc. so don't be too surprised if they sell out quickly.... thinkin' alot depends on how many production boards were able to be produced during this short time frame between beta testing and production.....and how many mods could be built by those making them for retail sales.....

I wonder how the dna30 device sales will be altered by the 40 release...

I notice the 30 devices are reduced a bit in some venues.

I keep asking in threads wether dual 18650's in a dna device are worth the trouble of finding one for sale, but can't get anyone to post about it.
Is that because its not really an issue (unless you are trying to use max watts all the time)?

I just recently converted to higher resistance and volts from sub ohms coils and higher watts.

Thanks, retird! I'm in no hurry. First of all, I wouldn't know what to do with a DNA40 mod. :D I don't have an atty that would work with it and I have no idea how to build a nickel coil. Second, I don't feel like spending $250 on a technology I don't quite understand.

I also read Imeo's thread about his soon to be released VIR. Another temperature control device, apparently. ;)

It's all very exciting. I have a feeling that vaping as we know it is going to change dramatically in the near future. In the meantime, I'm just gonna watch and read and learn. God knows I have plenty of hardware that may soon become obsolete--I might as well play with it a bit longer.

I don't think anyone knows yet... I saw (in the video) that Phil was using Flask, which I believe holds two batteries, but that's all I know.

Patience, grasshopper. :D The reviews will be coming soon--fast and furiously.

Yep....vaping technology just keeps on improving and changing....always something new just around the corner......heck I've got an obsolete Darwin that's somewhere around 3 years old (or so) and I still use it weekly so, to me, obsolete doesn't necessarily mean useless..... :)

Agreed. I often use my older hardware till it dies or PIF it if I know I'll never use it again. I gave away most of my V4L batteries and chargers, just kept a few for sentimental reasons. I still have a bunch of cartos in my who-knows box. I have a bunch of eGo-style batteries but I really don't use them... Never bought a Darwin; I remember looking at both, Darwin vs ProVari, got a ProVari. Still a workhorse. :)

Yeah, vaping is much more fun than smoking.

Literally any atty should work on it. The DNA40 does not require a nickel coil. It will work with conventional Kanthal or nichrome coils. It addresses all gripes people had with previous DNAs (lack of step-down, lack of reverse battery protection), AND it provides temperature limiting, which is the only feature that requires a nickel coil.

Thanks, Rossum, I understand that--but to me the most exciting feature is the temp control (and the step-down, of course, as I'm a low wattage person). I have plenty of other mods that work great with my toppers without temperature control. So I wait.

That and it's no harder to build a ni200 coil than a kanthal coil. In fact once you get used to it, it's a bit easier.
