Don't really know why they do/do not monitor this thread or the other hundreds of them over several forums or facebook pages.... I do know they get input from some facebook pages and from those that post in them.

Here is but one example from just one facebook page:

Lets all help give Evolv and the mod manufactures feedback on the large screen screen glitches.
LARGE SCREEN ONLY PLEASE
Please post a picture of the glitch if you have one, as well as the following information.
- Devise (rDNA, bap, Etc)
- Coil Material (Kanthal, Nickel, Etc)
- Coil Ohm
- Wattage Setting
- Temp Setting (if using nickel)
- Battery(s) Used
- ~Battery % when the glitch occurred
Example:
bap - Nickel - 0.15 - 25w - 450 - LG HE4 - 50%

I'll comment on the FaceBook only because I just don't think that is the best venue for the simple reason a lot of folks won't go near those expose yourself to the world social media sites. And as much as I hate to admit it I use it so seldom that I don't really no how to use it affectively. Actually I had closed my FB account and only opened it back up to contact Vapor Flash for an RMA - Ugh!

I know a lot of vendors use it lately but I truly believe they do it for the simple reason is that your activity on their page gets linked to you FB page and multiplies their exposure exponentially.

Same here!

And if you want to see the trouble you can get yourself into on those social media sites just watch the evening news. Hardly a day goes by that someone is forced to publicly apologize for something they posted and it went viral not to mention the articles that claim if you are looking to get your identity stolen just go on social media and wait a few days.

But it looks like the Vendors are not going to give up on it so easily. "grrr"

EDIT: was reading in another TC thread and ran across this link.... interesting .... http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...al-correcting-dna-40-temperature-setting.html..... WAY above my pay grade....

retird,

I agree with you completely. That said I find it hard to believe that they don't "read the mail" on these DNA40 threads. Frankly I would even go as far as to call it a big mistake not to monitor these conversations. That would give them the opportunity to cherry pick the good ideas and not have to be concerned about getting into big discussions with people that send in suggestions good and bad.

:2c:

PS - I assume they have a ADC chip on there board. if they switched to just plain real time read monitoring they could possible expunge a lot of "AI", "Average consumption" type code and use the "KISS" principle. With the "Seven 30" it behaves just like an everyday DVM it you have 3.7x volts that's what it reads... etc.

Active power control changes things significantly. You will see battery voltage jump all over the place if you read it live directly.

From what I've read it sounds like the meter moves a little slower on the single battery mods. When I first got my Flask I played with it a few times to see how long the batteries were going to last, and to see how it functioned, and it went from showing full all the way down to cut-off in about 30minutes, maybe less. Like I said, I don't really care now because it last me all day.....but it would be kinda nice if it functioned like most other battery meters.

So, just to hit back and report my findings...

This morning I was still on full battery after about an hour it finally went down to what seemed like 75%, not 5 mins after it went down to 50%. About 10 mins after that I was at 25% and finally about 15 minutes after that I was getting the error message.

That gives me (estimate, not raw data) about 30 minutes from the time it shows not completely full to completely empty taking a vape about every 3-5 mins. Although it's at least good that it gives me some time that's pretty scary how empty it really becomes in a flash. But at least now I guess I have some sort of warning and I'll know to either back off or get to a charger asap so I don't ruin my batteries.

I want to thank everyone who helped me out with this and replied. I still love the device it's just really really weird the way it works and makes me wonder if it was actually intended to work this way or if it's just another glitch.

These are really not correct results and are indicative of connection issues between the battery and the board. This is common with case grounded mods, or mods that don't have good sleds. Flasks in particular are known to have this issue.

I have a DIY dual battery DNA 40 mod, and the battery meter "works" the same way with one, or two batteries in it. Basically same thing everyone is reporting with their commercially available mods, stays full until around 3.5v, then drops after that, and finally get the low battery message around 3.2v.

Does it really bother me? No. Is this how I think evolv intended the meter to work? No. Is it just an issue with my mod's design? Maybe, but it seems the "big" companies are having the same results.

Proper function comes off full around 3.8v loaded.

I've been pondering going 0 nic also... just haven't jumped.... funny I started vaping in 2010 with 36mg. nic and about 3ml per day to 3mg now and about 6ml average now... not getting the flack from my heart doctor that he gave me while using the stinkies... :D

I hear you Retird, after 40+ years smoking, now 2+ years stopped, the goal was always to step down to zero for me, just not sure what the effect of increasing from 6ml to10-20ml per day will have

hmm, interesting. Maybe I won't plug mine in tonight and see how it does tomorrow. It's been a few months since I tried that, and I think I only let it go to cut-off one time.

Not that anyone cares, but I decided to let it go without charging to see how my 3 month old Flask battery meter behaves, and to see how this set of HE2 batteries are holding up. 30 hours so far (minus 7 hours of sleep time) and the meter is just starting to drop, but showing "full" most of the time.

If nothing else, at least I'll have a record of it here for when I forget...which may be as early as next week

edit: both batteries checked 3.61volts

I hear ya.... my thoughts too....6ml average per day for me of 3mg is a far cry from 2 packs a day of unfiltered PallMall's for 40 years.... gotta love vaping..

unfortunately, that doesn't seem that old to me

Mostly drag cars. Specifically, "street legal" drag cars. But I like working on anything with a motor.

Small world.... my bro has a draq car he runs and uses to test his computers (don't ask me what class he runs... 1/4 mile I know).... he designs, builds, manufacturers, and markets a data logger for drag cars, motorcycles, tractors, and boats...

Must be a pretty fast car, data loggers are usually reserved for the faster stuff. Most of the cars we've done have been logged with a laptop, but our latest toy has the FAST system on it. This year we're going to put a switch on the outside of the car so the crew chief can start the data logger. There's just too much stuff to keep track of in a 200mph car for the driver to have to deal with it.

GDeal GDNA Bottem Feeders, a GDNA40 3D printed and a couple of wood shell versions, I use FD classic 510 inserts with a custom drilled 6-32 screw.
I buy alot of parts at Hobby King, and they have about the best High Heat Silicon wire I've seen to date and you can buy it by the foot, and get it in colors. Shipping cost is a PITA though
