No, I actually agree with you; they're already having a field day with this "dual user" thing, and the actual dual users are likely to screw it all up for all of us. They really need to ____ or get off the pot. Fish or cut bait. SMOKE OR vape... but these idiots doing both, they really are going to screw the whole thing up for everybody.

Proud dual user that wants to rigorously debate this, but not thinking anyone here is actually up to that task. Let me know if I'm mistaken.

Will just note that I've previously gone cold turkey longer than any vaper has quit smoking via vaping. The idea of "fish or cut bait" would apply to that comparison, and arguably better. I would think cold turkey person would have better political leg to stand on than current vaper does, if the logic is all about smoking cessation.

Which I don't think it is, but many vapers appear to think it is.

Wow seems like opinions are frowned upon.
The reason I ranted here was to get it out my system. After venting I have called down and looked from other points of views.... well nvm wouldn't want to offend any one with a personal opinion

How is what you said an opinion? It is a self-righteous viewpoint and nothing other than that. An opinion would be your favorite e-juice flavor or your favorite clearomizer. Saying you want to strangle someone (even figuratively speaking) because they vape AND smoke and claiming such a thing has the potential for future bans is just ignorant. I am not sure if you are regurgitating other peoples ignorant view points or if you just speak without thinking but hopefully you will realize that bans have nothing to do with what you claim.

I've tried to convert a few of them away from the analogs for good but none seem to be taking the bait....
Been there as well. It's only natural we'd want to share this habit-kicking secret called vaping. After all, it worked for us. Screw 'em. I tried. They keep coming up with excuses (mainly the crap spewed by the media). They really don't want to quit smokes. So be it.

2 Winters ago I had a co-worker and friend who Passed out at work. He returned the following week, not looking so good and in fear for his health. His Doctor and the Emergency Room had Both confirmed he was suffering from Very high Blood Pressure.
My Friend, A heavy smoker was of course told he must stop smoking and yadi, yadi, yadi if he expected to live much longer.

My counsel, advice and recommendations. Not a lot really, I was fairly new to vaping but people at work were taking notice. I had one other co-worker already converted.
I understood my friends position, condition and need for help. I offered him a way to help reduce his need possible help reduce his Blood pressure. No Promises of a magic cure all or instant change in need or health. Just something that might make things easier.

He started his journey with a few Ego batteries, a few ce5's & Kanger T2 tanks some decent e-liquids and his carton of RYO smokes. It was a gradual thing, but a process none the less. I constantly offered support and watched for any needed tweaks to keep it simple and working.
Over the next few weeks he was looking better and smoking less. Over the next few months his smoking habit had dropped to a pack every few days and he was getting around much better. His Blood pressure was back down and stress was almost non-existent.

In about 6 months time he went from 3pk a day to walking up to me one Monday say saying he just realized he had not smoked in almost a week.
He has now surpassed one year smoke free and is loving life. I'm glad he got to meet his new Granddaughter Last week!

Before condemning and in spite of the FDA - for many, this IS a process and time tables cannot be established.

You don't like Dual users? Support their Good Habit. work to make them feel good about what they are doing. They just might get there.

I had a similar situation when I was about 10 yrs sober (about 12 yrs ago)... I sponsored a lady, took her to meetings, hung out with her to give her support for not-drinking... and it did no good, in the end; she went back to her husband, back to the drinking, and I never saw her again. Another lady I tried to help in a similar way did the same thing, except with that white powder stuff. From these experiences I learned not to sponsor anyone, it's just too disappointing when they won't drink the same koolaid I did. I don't even go to meetings, because they're all talking about how hard it is to stay sober. BS. It's easy to stay sober, just don't drink -- easy. Also don't sit around talking about it, romanticizing it, fantasizing about it, and whining about how much you want it, and all that latter applies equally to smoking.

I had the most awful dream last night; I dreamed I was drinking AND smoking! Imagine my delight when I woke up and discovered it was just a nightmare, really the only one I've had since I quit smoking, and that is miraculous; I can only thank vaping for that. But, they did say that 3 days-3 wks-3 months are the trouble spots, so I guess it's not really surprising that I'd have a whopper of a nightmare like that, at my 3 month point.

So, I think I like most the post in this thread about just sending flowers to the family members when the recalcitrant smoker finally dies of it. It's really all you can do, with those who just won't drink the koolaid.

Good, happy to hear it.

Now that I think about it I have always encouraged dual using. If someone was still smoking while using an ecig I saw that as the correct way of doing it because I know MANY vapers have throat irritation from PG when they first start or they just aren't being satisfied. I have seen people force vaping upon themselves and see the stress that led to them not coming back to vaping for a full year after their first attempt, which mostly happened because they didn't give themselves time to find the right setup and went at it with a blu or other device similar and got the completely wrong idea of vaping. It's something that has to be done without thought for most people; after all, that is part of the reason we couldn't quit cold turkey - the constant stress of quitting. Dual using gives the benefit of just waking up one day, like your friend and I, and not having a cigarette and then all at once you suddenly put your trust into your e-cig without even trying.

.07 ohms?? I seriously hope you guys don't do this.

I tried vaping at .07 ohms once. I thought I was ok, I was outside at the Fukushima Daiichi plant taking a break. Turns out .07 ohms has enough power to weaken storage tanks and well, a lot of radioactive contaminated water leaked out of those tanks. Now I feel like an idiot because water spilled all over my mod and I had to throw away the juice. On the up side, everything I vape glows like Pluid now and I haven't had to recharge that battery since February. I only wish I had a bunch more batteries with me that day to dunk in the water. I gotta go, I have a growth on my hand I have to have looked at...

Mercy people !

Any cigarette not smoked is a great thing regardless of the reason !

It's about harm reduction after all...

smh...

I agree, and I hate to seem like I am arguing or ranting (which is how my comments must seem) but I want to make it clear that anyone reading this that is a current dual user should not feel bad. They should do there thing and quit when they are ready. That is the point that I am trying to make.

That growth is PROOF you are healthy and growing. Think about it, if your were sick you would be weak and shrinking. You should totally not worry about it.

And OP should stop worrying about what other people do. It will free up time for him to think about his own issues.
