Are these generally available yet mate or did you receive them to test?

hey buddy, i did get a few for testing from da-man. last week when i had spoken to him about the composition of the wicks he told me that he would send me a few to try out. they should be available for purchase very soon.

Wow a couple days off and this thread hits >2000 posts. Are we grooving the FC-2000 or sticking with the stock version? I see the benefit of grooves for additional surface area for juice flow, but I am trying to wrap my head around why a groove in a tight wick hole would better better than under-sizing the wick ~.5mm in wick hole? From my experience any micro gap between wick and coil is a source for a hot spot.

I can see grooving the wick below the coil, but not underneath at the coil. Then again I have not tried it yet so this is all hypothetical for me. Anybody have experiences here?

gdeal, a new avatar? i had the same thoughts about the slots and the gaps behind, but it does work, and works well. it seems like there is no negative affects and no difference in break in time.

Got my mac350 in today with a ceramic and a 5 wrap .. no hot spots but I cant find my meter anywhere ..

Ill have to say I am quite please with my first experiance with a hybrid and ceramic coil.

Thinkin of trying a dual coil my next go around.

One question though, about how long do the ceramics last? I'm vaping 50/50 rigjt now, but usually its 100vg

For what it's worth....

I have a pile now of the AGA-T2's most of which were from the SoulFree CoOp where we had the manufacturer drill these out for us to 1/8". They were a little under that, but quite close. My first delve into the ceramic with the AGA though was with one of the originals I bought at DV. I drilled that one out to 1/8.

After over a week, using 1/8" FC-2000 with 30awg and the EHW method, this thing is amazing. For cleaning, all I do between flavors is run it under water in the sink through fill hole, turn upside down and shake out water and repeat several times. This worked well for the last about 10 days, but today was too gunked up. So I dry burned it for a while to charcoal up the stuff, rinse, burn and then decided to use the Flavor Flush I bought for my drippers and burned that a few drops at a time. rinsed very well and refilled. Just like new. Have never has to rewrap a thing, yet, have a pile of 1/8 wicks still here, as I've only broken one by dropping a Zmax on it while it sat on the table.

Now I'm going to set up the other 5 the same way. No slotted wicks for me yet, but interesting to hear about that. Frankly, these are working great for me with my 50/50 mix at 1.3 ohms. Plenty of flavor and lots of vap.

Thanks to all those on this thread I've been reading now for the last 6-7 weeks for all the great information.

with all those gennys, it would be nice to have a couple of different set-ups, maybe slight variences of resistances. if you have a mechanical mod you can do a set-up with 28g, maybe one with a 2/3 wrap or 3/4. or maybe even a slightly different 30g set-up. i know your really liking it now with the set-up you have currently but with a different set-up you might find something you like even better

No but that is an option when I get home, I am too close to leaving Japan to order anything right now.

i see frog, i just thought that instead of boring out that why not use a wick that fits. i do believe that the 7/64 were made for the zap, and the newer version 7/64 should be the best

well i started this thread on feb 6th or something and i have the very same 3/32 wick still in one of my devices. this wick has never been taken out for a boil yet, it has been vaping strong for over 2 months, the only cleaning it has gotten has been a few wet burns. i believe these wicks could last for months and months.

I agree with you that I need to experiemnt with different things, and will. Which brings me to my question for you. I do not yet own any mechanicals, so limited by what my ZMax and Vamo can do for now. What mechanical would you recommend? Keeping in mind that I like my collection of 18650's in rotation and prefer not to have too many types of anything.

And thanks Vapdivrr as you among a few others here in this thread have helped drive and shape what is bar none the best wicks possible. I finally get to taste what my juices are supoosed to taste like. I know there are other threads for finding other wicks, but why bother?? :) This is just too good.

By the way, I HATED SS and will never do that again. Just too many things to always have to screw with

thank you for that, i wish that all vapors can just try this ceramic just once, i think that would be all it would take for them to vape ceramic all the time. i have heard nothing but good things about the natural mod, it is very affordable, has great contacts, and is readily available. i know someone who has had one now for a few days and absolutly loves it.

Vap, that is such a generic name it does not come up with anything useful in Google search. You have a link or vendor?

Thanks

Vapdivrr - Great Video. I am looking forward to trying these out.

So..it sounds like they changed the structural specifications again. You mentioned that the wick heats up quicker, so I assume that they have less mass. Are the grains larger/smaller? And are the openings larger too?

Better yet, are you able to post a side by side comparison pic?

Yup, new avatar...just keeping things fresh...

i believe that they are heating faster is because of the them having less mass. i do believe that they are opened up even more then previous wicks, they now look like jagged volcanic lava rock in structure, very light. i will get my camera and show how they look against the previous wicks. i have every wick that has came out, so i will do a side by side with all tommorrow.

i know that maybe most of these results can be attributed to the EHW but when i tried the fc wicks for the first time i had to use 32g wire with a resistance of about 2.0 and low voltages, and a break in time of about 2 or so tanks to get a great vape. now i can wrap a .7 Ω coil with 28g and wattages over 20 with hardly no break in at all. the EHW and the tweeking of the wicks have made this possible.

STEVEW, jason day? its early yet but it could be the first time. if you dont like golf then you dont know what the heck i am talking about. i think there is another aussy in second place

Yes I see the news. If he pulls it off he will be the first Aussie ever to win it. Apparently he came close a couple of years ago and I have not heard much about him since.
