I have the 7/64 wick. I use VV only. How many wraps on the 30g should I try next.

Its 5.3 sorry not 5.5....but its vaping like crazy!!
Ok, i am going to grind down the diamiter of another wick, as for the air hole it is free of juice and right now it is going to stay the same size, the drill press is tucked in a corner of the garage and has become a clothes rack as of lately.
Actually 1.4 ohms @ 4.6 volts will get you the max output with a ProVari V2.

it is funny that when i vaped ss mesh wicks and if you exceeded the max output of the provari you would get an error message but with ceramics it isnt as picky. i know that it will not let you either way exceed the limits and although it may say your vaping at 16.2 watts it is holding you to 15 watts or 3.5 amps, but with ceramics it doesnt give you the error messages like ss. so yes railrust, although the provari is letting you vape at 5.4v, your really not, i believe that it keeps you to 15 watts no matter what it says

i would do a 4/5 wrap, if the resistance is to low for your device add one more, but a 4/5should work. the most important thing will be just how tight you can get the coils. the hot wrap is the best but if you dont feel confident in this you can try the hellow world way, post 2058 will explain. good luck

good luck, what percentage of pg do you vape? this may not have anything to do with it but today i flushed out one of my gennys with some water then filled back up with some juice, well i guess i left some water in the tank and as i was vaping i was getting what you were describing, the first few pulls seemed very hard to pull, now it only lasted a short time and then it was fine. i know this was because the wick had water on it, but for a short time i was thinking that maybe the juice became very thin, thus creating this, so maybe a very thin juice, like a high pg content will react the same, i really dont know if this is the case but if you do vape a mostly pg juice maybe it is possible.
so i was pretty close, so do you think it is possible to achieve slightly higher watts then 15?

Just got a DID D16 today and set it up with 1/8 inch fc2000 ceramic. Pretty impressed with the the clouds I'm getting with flat kanthal wrapped to 1.2 ohms. taste is a bit muted though, will this get better over time?

Should I keep the coils spread apart or keep them tight? I can go no lower than 1ohm on my device.
Your call. Personally I find I get a smoother vape when the coils are evenly spread out from top to bottom. But it may take a little longer to kick up the vape on 28ga Kanthal. Tight wraps vaporize the juice faster but you are also potentially prone to dry hits. Your vaping habits are your best guide, and testing it for yourself which suits you best would not be a bad idea.
Thus you can do either, even having the coils touch each other. Nonetheless, inconsistent spacing can break the taste of flavoring.

Hey Tim, I would say definitely yes. Not only that, subtleties of flavor are noticeable as you experiment with different power levels. At least I have noticed this with VV devices. As your wick breaks in, keep checking that your coils are nice and tight (best to leave some tails on the coil so you can make adjustments if needed). I have heard a few people mention muted flavors now and for myself at least, I am experiencing the opposite. Best taste I have ever had out of anything.
I vape mostly 100% VG, some 20/80 PG/VG, (diy, some retail) i watched tim_man's vid and that is generally what i am doing long slow, heavy draws and the the device kicks in, i'm guessing that is the coil-wick heating up, if that's normal i'm good?
5.3 v is as high as the provari goes on my 1.8...today the wick decided to kick it up a notch...man I have never blown that much smoke that tasted that good...Amazing I think Im hooked on this...now Im going to wait on the slotted wicks and try them. Maybe the Vapman can share that info when he gets it. Thanks again jasl90 for the charts good to have them thanks for the effort!! Im being wisked away in vape heaven right now!!
