That's surprising... I know that the max wattage can be exceeded by a little but 1.8 ohms & 5.4 volts is 16.2 watts.I was unaware that you could push it that far over the limit. Gunna have to give that combo a try myself.

well i truely hope you find this perfect vape, i know i have with the ceramic wicks. are you planning on using the 1/8 wicks or 7/64? and will you be using a mechanical or vv ?

yes could be the wick room or the size of the fill hole. i still am vaping all my set-ups without the screw in, although i suspect that it wouldnt make much difference. i have never experienced a hard pull on any of the set-ups to date . the only thing that sounds close is the slight lag in vaporization with a 1/8 wick and 28g wire. this lag is very slight and when it happens it doesnt feel like its hard to take a draw. so i believe it is something different that you are experiencing. it seems like a vapor lock issue, where the air flow is being impeded. this is usually from a wick with little room to breath or a very small fill hole. for some reason i hear this in zen devices mostly. i know for sure that i havent heard of this in a DID, AC-9,RSST, AGA, COBRA. but for some reason there has been issues with the zen 's.
Actually 1.4 ohms @ 4.6 volts will get you the max output with a ProVari V2.![]()

Its 5.3 sorry not 5.5....but its vaping like crazy!!
I have the 7/64 wick. I use VV only. How many wraps on the 30g should I try next.

Ok, i am going to grind down the diamiter of another wick, as for the air hole it is free of juice and right now it is going to stay the same size, the drill press is tucked in a corner of the garage and has become a clothes rack as of lately.
Here are some number I threw together using SQL Server... Sorry for only showing pics but all i have access to at the moment is my iPad and Number... I have the actual Excel spreadsheet at work if anyone wants a copy.

So... Using the magic Provari number... 1.35 ohms @ 4.5 volts lands you on a solid 50.
Looking at the chart, sorted by watts... The 4.6 ohms @ 4.6 is the highest I've tried to verify...
so i was pretty close
i would do a 4/5 wrap, if the resistance is to low for your device add one more, but a 4/5should work. the most important thing will be just how tight you can get the coils. the hot wrap is the best but if you dont feel confident in this you can try the hellow world way, post 2058 will explain. good luck
Your call. Personally I find I get a smoother vape when the coils are evenly spread out from top to bottom. But it may take a little longer to kick up the vape on 28ga Kanthal. Tight wraps vaporize the juice faster but you are also potentially prone to dry hits. Your vaping habits are your best guide, and testing it for yourself which suits you best would not be a bad idea.Should I keep the coils spread apart or keep them tight? I can go no lower than 1ohm on my device.
Just got a DID D16 today and set it up with 1/8 inch fc2000 ceramic. Pretty impressed with the the clouds I'm getting with flat kanthal wrapped to 1.2 ohms. taste is a bit muted though, will this get better over time?
good luck, what percentage of pg do you vape? this may not have anything to do with it but today i flushed out one of my gennys with some water then filled back up with some juice, well i guess i left some water in the tank and as i was vaping i was getting what you were describing, the first few pulls seemed very hard to pull, now it only lasted a short time and then it was fine. i know this was because the wick had water on it, but for a short time i was thinking that maybe the juice became very thin, thus creating this, so maybe a very thin juice, like a high pg content will react the same, i really dont know if this is the case but if you do vape a mostly pg juice maybe it is possible.

Yes sir.
Got the spreadsheet loaded to my Google Docs...
