A technical term...if you are around Geeks, you hear it all the time. Means "screwed up", FUBAR, messed up. Specifically used to describe technology that is broken..
I think it originated with the Muppets Swedish Chef "...Bork Bork Bork..."

never heard of it but I like it.

Hey all,
recognize a few voices here.I've been primarily over on the other ceramic wick thread.I've made my own fishwicks for months, and used the new BD13, but recently, now that the demand for fc-2000 isn't so horrendous,I got some fc-2000. I'm impressed they're good little wicks.I was going to ask you all who've been using the fc-2000 primarily, how have you been cleaning them

Posted this elsewhere but thought I put it here because of all the activity.

"I've been using my AGA-T2 with an fc-2000 wick and 32g nichrome wire for about 3 weeks now. The ohms are at 1.8/1.9 and stays there. I run it at 4.1 volts. It has been doing fine with good flavor and vapor production. My problem is that today I notice a slight tingling/burning sensation on my tongue and a weird, seemed metallic but maybe not, aftertaste. It was all of a sudden. The draw before had been fine and then all of a sudden on this draw got the problem. There is carbon buildup on the wire but it does not seem excessive at all. I thought about burning it off and starting over but I hate to do that because of the break-in period of a few days for this setup.

Any ideas?"

Sounds like you have a hot spot, usually from the top wire to the positive post (the "metallic taste" is a giveaway). Just pull out your juice with a syringe, clean out the tank and rinse the wick/coil with water, and do some dry-burns until all the gunk is burned off the coils & wick - it won't harm either one. Then refill & after a few vapes, you should be good to go again. You only need to go through the break in process with the ceramics one time, after that, they are fine no matter how many time you clean them.

While your are doing the dry-burns, make sure the coils glows evenly. If the top (or bottom) wire glows first, you may need to tweak it a little (make sure it hasn't come away from the wick), but it usually settles in pretty quickly.

With the AGA-Ts, the positive post is pretty far from the wick, so it's a common problem. Next time you re-coil it, put a small Stainless steel washer under the top screw to take up the distance, or bring a little extra wire around the top nut & wrap it once around the top wire going back to the wick (essentially doubling the resistance on that leg)...that works every time.

Good luck..

I just took one of mine apart for a cleaning. I just boiled the ceramic wick in water for 15 minutes and recoiled it with new annealed wire. Good as new. I also rinsed out the tank with water.

That would cause it but I took the top off and did about a 10 second burn and could see no hot spots, not even from the positive post to the wick.

I got a couple of fc-2000's today myself, broke 2 out of 3 of them within an hour, one snapped off just from tightening the ground screw :( I have no clue how the second one broke, but they weren't wicking very good at all for me. I've got some ss wire/mesh wick in there now and its working quite nicely.

I had to run a couple of tanks through mine before they started wicking perfectly.

+1 on that. The ceramics have a little break-in time when you first start using them. The tighter you get your coils on the wick (hot-wrap, electrical annealing, etc), the shorter that time will be. Give them a little time...you will be well rewarded.:2cool:

Steve, I finally made it. my kayfun is on fc2000. You made it sound easy but bro, that was a real struggle for me! new territories lol!
But wow, I'm SO happy with the results now! Thank you so much for sharing!

I am so glad mate :). I just set up mine again tonight. Tightest wick yet using annealing and a Peter K type method. Came out fantastic. I have this down to an art now. So nice to just toss it on the seat in the car, throw in your pocket, refill, draw just how you like it. I think it is a fabulous set up. Once you get a good coil in there you just use it over and over. Screw the silica, lol. I ran a tank on it but hated the friggin mess and to be honest those little hairy fibers scare me. Cotton and stone in a KF a quintessentially sublime experience. Five stars from me :).
