I think I recall seeing in the 'other' ceramic wick thread someone using a broken piece in a dripper setup successfully.
Well guy, back in the Lab today to take a close look at the coil now that it is broken in well
So I took a fair few shots and found one tiny air gap between the coil and the wick, tiny and yes I am being over critical, but it is annoying me now that I have seen it

That coil is tight! I read your post on how you wrap your coil. I made a few attempts but just could never get the wick in without loosening the entire thing. Either i couldn't fit the wick into the coil or I end up with loose coils all around. Any other tips on how to wrap the coil tight? Any chance of a video?
wicks changing colors while a vape on them gives me the willies, and if the color is changing while this background flavor is presenting itself, I get the WILLIES.
are these close ups of the fc- wicks? i guess they look different in the close ups
i might try this, i have been going back and forth on the cc, like you said if you dont use it, it takes some time. the last time i used just a tiny bit of thread and a slight sand, this worked good but still had a break in period. so next time i will try your way. like piccard says "make it sow, or so"
I assume a bit of WA fishtix oil could really help the breakin period
is that air stoned wicks in wa & co ? lucky them
so the wicks that your using from pet store really change to blue as your vaping?
actually they look kind of smoother in a way. looking at them just by eye they look like their volcanic sort of, but under magnification you see them sort of smooth. in the pics you can see that they are tiny beeds kind of molded together but in real sight they look like one solid mass, very cool

Im Calling this the "Elias Hot Wrap"
Well guys, after I misplaced my 2-2.5mm rod yet had all my video gear ready to go I decided to try a new method.
The method just came to me after I failed several times making it on a smaller diameter rod that just simply didnt work like the original rod I made the previous wick with.
I was thinking what we need is a way to make the coil flexible enough to wrap onto the ceramic wick I thought to myself what about using the mod somehow to be able to heat up the coil and wrap it but I couldnt work out a simple electrical way to wire it even though I am an electrical engineer, then I thought why complex the situation just heat it up with a flame, everyone has a method of oxidizing wicks be it a chefs blow torch or a stick etc so I tried it, the result is amazing, this coil is so tight that you cant move it regardless.
what I do is simply heat up the wick and coil as you can see and firmly wrap the coil, it's almost impossible to do it on video but I gave it my best shot and it will make sense to you all and you result should make you an un-movable super tight coil wrapped around your ceramic wick.
Hope this works out for you all, because I burnt my fingers several times to show you all the method, oh and please excuse no audio as I had the Mrs and Kids in the background a little too loud...

well i thought i had a tight wrap , im sort of timid about breaking it down since i just got the ceramic yesterday and worked first try . but that was amazing .
