It isn't what is generally recognized as mayonnaise...
It is why Miracle Whip is labeled as dressing and Hellman's Mayonnaise says Real Mayonnaise...

Yawn.........

Both work as a sandwich spread.

They intentionally want it to be fuzzy and confusing.

Hmmm...............must have missed that sentence.

The intentionally label it the way they do because:
( from article)
CEO Josh Tetrick said in a call withFortune. “We’re trying to ensure that the good thing is always the mainstream thing, and that it’s not pushed aside as the fancy substitute or alternative.”

I total agree Steve! See, this is what the FDA should be doing - going after the Vegan hypocrites passing off their soybean trash as real food. It's a growing issue in our country. The other day, I saw a sign in from of a restaurant saying they had vegan ice cream. There is no such thing as vegan ice cream. Cream comes from cows. Did they plant cow seed and grow a plant based cow? These hypocrites need to be crushed. Or at least stopped from naming their different "foods" after real foods.

Now, I am going to go out and ride my bike, which has a Brooks saddle. It's made from premium cowhide leather from a cow that gave it's life to become not only this saddle, but jackets, wallets, furniture as well delicious steaks, burgers and sausages (and the gross bits became dog food). A Brooks saddle is like a relaxing hammock for your {moderated}.

I don't know why, but I love seeing the freak out about vegan food "attacking" "regular" food. You gonna also stop eating vegetables and grains?

Only if they come with a vegan label on them. I wrap all my veggies in bacon...

I'm glad to hear the American government addresses this problem with all its might.
Especially tourists, completely unaware of this whole vegan thing, might be seriously upset with eggless mayo.
I would hate to have to bring my own mayo to enjoy your great fries the next time I come over from Holland just to be sure I'm getting the real thing.

But yeah, you got me on the FDA thing, since the FDA hasn't published its rules yet.

Anyway, I was just having a bit of fun. I do that sometimes. Maybe I need to insert a smiley.

Only when presented (sold) as ejuice.

Vegetable glycerine and propylene glycol are not exclusive to ejuice.

Ejuice probably accounts for less than 1% of VG and PG sales.

They can't and won't classify VG and PG as tobacco products unless presented as such.

The automotive industry alone uses more PG in a year than ejuice makers will use in 2 decades.
Meanwhile.

Back at the ranch.

My local wally world restocks vg after I get to it.

When I get back to it, I'm pretty sure there's never been more than 1 bottle missing since last restock.

Though I'm out of town quite a bit. And I may be delusional.

But i hope they never catch on.

If they start selling vegan spread as Mayo, then they should.

However the Mayo clinic is named after Dr William Mayo, so the connection isn't there.

It's about defrauding the buyer by misrepresenting a product sold at profit.

Dishonesty is THE MOST PROFITABLE AND PROLIFIC FORM OF BUSINESS in a civilized society.

FTFY :D

Do they admit that they leave "Vegan" off the label to confuse the buyer?
If so, yes it's shady.

Bad business decision to mislead the consumer and then admit it in a Fortune Magazine article?

Yeah, I'd say that's a pretty poor decision. At least they admit it.
Now we know for sure we can't trust the label on their product.
I've never seen an fda mandated label I can trust.

What's new?
