Oh, no! Another meaningless deadline... I thought the end of the vaping world was last July or October or December or January...

Of course e-juice is a tobacco product. The nicotine is produced by extracting it from tobacco...

Coca cola is a coffee product because caffeine can be produced from coffee?

.....
Who are our lobbyists?
TVECA? "Tobacco Vapor..."? E-Gads!! Who made them our interface to the media?
CASAA would be a better choice.

.....

I was wondering the same thing.

Why are fruit, pastry and non-nicotine vapers being thrown under the bus.

This all really gets under my skin. So, effectively the FDA and various state legislatures are basically saying to the vaping community -
"Please go back to the Deadly cigarettes you use to smoke so we can regain lost revenue in state and federal coffers. We hope you don't die too soon from some terrible disease because we won't get enough replacement revenue and our friends, the Big Pharma Super Pacs won't make enough money on your diseased body if you pass to quickly and will have to reduce their political contributions due to lost revenue."

Yes exactly! It disturbs me as well Picowatt.

Yes , CASAA would be the one. But, with 8700 members it is pretty toothless. This forum has 195,000 members. Why only 8700 CASAA members?

I got took of the members list. If you're interested in why PM me. I just don't air my dirty laundry on a public forum though.

Ah hellz why not just this once.
Okay if you are donating monthly to CASAA and for some reason or another you no longer want that donation coming out of your bank account the only way to stop it is for them cancel your membership. There is no other way to do that on the CASAA site.

Some of the rude, vocal, extremist members are a big turn off... Anyone who has a difference of opinion is an ignorant ANT...
Because of the rude people in CASAA. I hope not I just joined. Is that what I will find?
Rude , vocal, extremist ...?
So it seems from what you say that there are those in CASAA who exceptionally arrogant...?
I hope not. I am more polite, cold, calculating and relentless - in matters that are important and where I see oppression and injustice.

People who join CASAA have various opinions and personalities, like any other group. We don't all agree in lockstep, but I don't see why that should be a problem.

And you can't just re-sign up as a non-donating member? Seems that you could and seems this is just a not very streamlined website (I am getting ready to talk with them about helping them out per request (I am a web application and IT Specialist by trade).

This just doesnt seem like a organizational problem, just logistics...way different.

This is the simplest (il)logical fallacy there is:
Premise #1 - Tobacco contains nicotine
Premise #2 - E-Liquid contains nicotine

Conclusion - E-Liquid is tobacco

This is a Non Sequitur of the simplest form.

Mike

The nicotine in e-liquid that has nicotine in it is exclusively extracted from tobacco. It is a tobacco product. A product is a result of something else i.e., in this case, from the extraction process. This is how the government sees it.

Unfortunately , you are correct. It is a logical progression - like cause and effect.
But I don't see the system as a complete product such as Blu e-cigs.
How about synthetic D-Nicotine.

"Now i have a good excuse for a garden this year."
Eggplants, and lots of em.
I've read it takes 20 eggplant to equal 1 cig.
Actually it's around 20 pounds of them,not 20 plants..
If you didn't notice i was joking..
you can breed plants of the same family to make hybrids..
kind of why i threw tobacco in there at the end for the kicker.

You should have seen the Pomatoes i grew one year, they were juicy and crunchy all at the same time and made the best fries ever.
Didn't even have to add ketchup to them..:p

How about synthetic D-Nicotine.

If nicotine were synthesized at an affordable cost or even derived form vegetables and the government really wanted to go after vaping, then nicotine itself would be regulated.

I understood that D-Nicotine (synthetic) was prevalent in Asian e-liquids and very economical.
But, I'm probably misinformed - knowing little of organic chemistry.

I think it will be regulated to death and with the current admin who never saw a reg they didn't like we are in for a major battle. BP must have some major reason for the funds they are spending. NIc is being tested for multiple problems by the larger drug co's. If nicotene is found to be an aide for alzheimers or diabetes think of the money they will lose if it isn't in their pocket.. I can see nicotene pills for 1000.00 a prescription.

Appears that perhaps TVECA was blowing smoke.

This from the FDA:
A Special Statement from CTP – April 18, 2014

The FDA has not issued its proposed rule regarding what additional tobacco products should be regulated by the agency. We are aware that the Tobacco Vapor Electronic Cigarette Association has indicated publicly that they have a copy of our proposal. The proposal is still in draft form and under review. As a matter of policy, the FDA does not share draft rules with outside groups while a rule is still under review.

Everything I have read concerning synthetic nicotine has shown it to be expensive. I imagine the government would then regulate it as a dru.....
I am actually surprised one can buy gallons of 100 mg nicotine. That will change...
