Speaking of universities & drinking, this is one of my favorite recipes for cold winter days.

Hot Caramel Apple Cider for grown ups.
4 mug’s worth of Apple Cider, 1 mug’s worth of Caramel Vodka, 1 tablespoon Cinnamon, 1/4 cup Brown Sugar. Perfect for fall :) Ingredients 4 mug’s worth of apple cider 1 mug’s worth of caramel vodka 1 tablespoon cinnamon 1/4 cup brown sugar Mix all of the ingredients above in a large pot. 2. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally until liquid just begins to steam (don’t over heat or else the alcohol will burn off). 3. While cider is warming up, take your mugs or glasses and rim them with brown sugar. Pour cider into your rimmed glasses, serve and enjoy! Uma I can't resist saying: "Sounds delicious, but don't drink it in front of your kids or they will want to drink it too when they grow up."

Or do what my parents did, two pots one for them and one for the 5 of us. Hot apple cider is a great winter drink in a cold northern Ohio winter.

Be careful, this requires logic and the ANTZ are incapable of understanding it.

yum yum, Uma, that sounds delicious! :)
And yeah, at least they posted one comment - and a good one at that :)

Hm.... I can see two very bad side-effects of vaping, indeed (caution, irony - yoohooo ANTZ, know what irony is, ey?) :

1. you get to look at a lot of junk science. The kind of crap you used to put away / close / disregard after 2 sentences (like: "chemical X in chocolate causes ingrown toenails in laboratory rats... blather..blather.... "BEWARE OF CHOCOLATE!!!" ).
- This is kind of annoying.

2. Once you know the facts and see all this crap slathered all over the media... you DO start to think "Hm..... what about all the stuff that they have fed me for decades, and that I just believed / disregarded but still kept some bits in memory ??? Hm.... indeed...."
- This is kind of annoying as well. But not for you, but for THEM. Because you no longer just eat up all the manure that they feed you. On ANYTHING. Hehe :p

It never ceases to amaze me that I'm suppose to vape something that tastes like crap just because kids ALSO like good tasting stuff.

Yeah, I know. This is absolute bull poo poo!
Nawwww... adults do not like flavors. Flavors are for kids... Adults live on bread and water....
Jeez, even when I smoked, I loved those small, vanilla-flavored cigars, with the sweet stuff on the filter.... and I am most definitely not a teenager.. not by a long shot

Now I go all out for yummy liquid flavors... Hm... say... If I VAPE sweet stuff, I have no need to SNACK ON sweet stuff... and should that not actually satisfy those "obesity control" folks? Or are they also "quit or die"? Live on bread and water.. or just die?

Actually.. nawww... I don't want to know... :p

Slightly :offtopic:

Caramel vodka? I don't drink, but that sounds just.... I was going to say bizarre, but instead I'll say... intriguing!

Just wanted to add that caramel vodka with kahlua/milk (aka 'White Russian') is also delicious.

Getting back to the article, it's basically the same-old, same-old we hear ad nauseum. I tried to do a quick google search on what percentage of the American Lung Association's funding came from Big Pharm but was unsuccessful. Anyone have any idea? Just curious...

The ALA won't report that info, but the ALA has increasingly relied upon Big Pharma money during the past 20 years.

I suspect drug companies have given the ALA at least $50 million in the past 20 years just to promote smoking cessation drugs (and to oppose smokeless tobacco, and more recently e-cigs).

While the ALA (and CTFK, ACS, AHA, AAP, AMA, Legacy, etc.) used to acknowledge Big Pharma funding for various reports and projects, those disclosures (previously insisted upon by Big Pharma donors) have declined significantly during the past several years.

I suspect that in recent years (due to our exposing), the drug companies and these funding recipients agreed to cover up Big Pharma's influence over those organizations.

This link results in a search of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant archive...
Robert Wood Johnson - Grant Archive

That search shows around $9.6 million in grants to the American Lung Association.
It includes some grants to others, like the American Cancer Society, but I just added up the ALA grants.

These are just the grants for the Smokeless States program, although the ALA has received many other RWJF grants.

Those last two are Stanton Glantz projects.

Why bother seeking the truth when lying is so much more profitable.

 Holy mother of G**!
Thank you for the links, dears! I had some, but not all.

And what a pity that those people who subsist on a steady diet of "sound bites" have no idea of what manure they are being fed, by whom, and why / for what purpose.

- And one little thought, just from my head:
Can anybody imagine what good that kind of money could do, if it was used to bring life-saving medicines to countries in the Third World? To provide clean drinking water? To provide life-saving medication against, for example, AIDS - at less than the inflated market prices?
How many men, women and children could be saved - with that kind of money? How many children could be educated and given the means to feed themselves - with that kind of money?
Instead, that money is mindlessly squandered on instilling fear, uncertainty and doubt in the minds of people in the industrialized world. So that Big Pharma can rake in the cash on - excuse me - lifestyle "drugs".
That makes me sick.

I know, right. This kind of stuff makes me more upset than all the persecution they do.
