Okay I think i got it: got a mesh and using the seal and it seems to be feeding fine but I got a hot leg. I'm done with it for the night. I'm going to shoot for a 2+ ohm micro coil in the morning and see if that solves the hot leg i didn't catch during coil carboning.
You could put the mesh in hollow ekowool. That's what I plan on doing with mine tomorrow.

Yep. That's how I've had mine for two days now. Aside from the minor (very minor) flooding during the fill, it's been darn near perfect. Not one dry hit. No gurgling. Nothing coming OUT of the airflow ring.

I plan on sticking with this, unless someone comes up with something way more awesome but still easy enough for a doofus like me to replicate. ;)

well on a second fill it seemed to flood again. unless minor flooding is code for losing a ml of liquid then I'm at a loss. putting it away for the night. hope to get it to work tomorrow

I didn't lose even 1ml. I had mine upside down with the airflow ring wide open, but only a little liquid came out of the mouthpiece. It was just enough to make a nickel-sized stain on two layers of vaper towels.

But it's always a good idea to step away from a frustrating project and give it a fresh start after a day or two. I was pretty furious with the Fogger until I did this build. Now I'm considering getting a second one next month, or maybe wait for a V3 or whatever.

All that said, it's still not quite as good as my RSST or AGA-T2. I guess I'm just a genesis "guy." :|
Could be that I'm just more experienced with those as opposed to these.....ProTanks on 'roids. I just got an Ithaka clone and haven't even had the time/nerve to take it apart, inspect (and probably trash) the "factory" setup and do my own. I've got a nice collection of how-to vids assembled though. That's my project for tomorrow. :)

The *$57 high end vape, $27 for Chi You clone and $30 for the Fogger.
* price does not include $9 for the MNKE 18650 battery or the approx 44 cents for the wick/coil and 4ml of juice(DIY butterscotch)
1385726_674373805920180_966332342_n.jpg

0.7 ohms/ 26 gauge nichrome and rolled cotton wick.

AND just had my first short due to the adjustable screw, I assume the head gets pushed towards the side and shorts, in my case I just screwed it in the whole way and adjusted the pin farther out on the mod.
Scary

i'd like to know what they meen by upgraded exactly.... it can't be the thickness of the glass! soo...

Not sure what it means either but the bottom portion of the glass could be made larger on the O.D. so it would be flush with the cover, that would be about it.
Since we're on the subjet on the glass, I had a heck of a time getting my glass off of the base, it stuck to the o-ring and would spin the o-ring around.
If you hold the glass a push the threaded part where the top screws on inward it comes off quite easily when stuck that way.

I reworked my cotton build last night, using a lot less cotton, a 1mm silica "flavor wick" lying on the coil and the same micro coil (28g, 10-11 wraps measuring 1.5ohm, I wanted to be able to use it on my vamo as well). I trimmed both the cotton and the flavor wick about almost flush with the outside wall of the slots. It's wicking great so far and I'm getting clouds of vapor with great flavor. There was a little gurgling for the first 15 minutes or so, but that cleared up on it's own. I have some ekowool on the way and I want to try mesh in my other, but so far this build is doing nicely. No dry hits, no primer hits necessary, or leaking so far. I'll report back later tonight as I vape through the day to let everyone know how it held up.

okay so i tried it with filling it then sitting it upside down with the airflow wide open (how i like to vape it anyway) and got a lot less leaking on a full fill. the device wanting to create a vacuum to even out the presure int he tank reminds me of those old micro cig smokymizers on how they would flood on a fill if you didnt do something similar. will see how a day with it goes.

What kinda wick/coil are you using this time? I hope it works for you this time!

I keep forgetting to mention that when I fill my tank after a rebuild, I take the top cap for the glass tank completely off. I take the screw out of the fill hole when I replace it. After it's all snug, I put the screw back in tight. I *think* this is helping to curb (but not totally stop) the flooding I get on an initial fill. Someone else suggested this method, so props to them!

I do it this way too now ... for one thing I don't have to get the syringe out. :)

Only thing about this method is that I sorta cringe when I'm pressing the top cap back down. I try to be very very careful to not apply too much downward pressure in any one area; I'm afraid I'll crack the glass.
Need to get a couple replacement tanks once I have the funds.
But so far, so good!

Been holding off on getting a Fogger considering issues, but also envious of the great sounding successful builds some are experiencing! Looks like predictions of Fogger V3 are correct at least according to This Post Looks like this will be time for me to jump onboard, and get a little Fogger V3 loving!

I hear you on this one ... I'm always a nervous Nelly when I'm handling that glass tank!

Yeah if the price is right (around $30, like the V2 when it isn't being price-gouged) I'll definitely pick one up.
Same for an improved Ithaka clone. I've got the latest one from fasttech sitting in front of me, daring me to start tinkering
with it......
evil temptress....!!!
