Re: the o-ring addition for adjustable 510 post screw for avoiding shorts.
I choose to not use the small one in the spares bag, might need that for the chamber stem someday.
A 3 x 1 mm nitrile o-ring fit nicely in there for me, kind of got to lube it a little so the turning of the screw doesn't spin it while tightening. Shorts on a mechanical scare the bajeebies out of me.

My fogger v2 is foggin! I like the taste/hit of cotton but don't like cotton on an "inside build". In case I burn it. I've been running a couple days on xc-116. Decent but I think I'm a genny guy too zip.

Anyway tonight I did a solid 500 mesh wick, 28g, 5 or 6 wraps, 1.2 ohms, and it's kickin ash! Gurgling a bit but I really don't mind that. it's hitting and producing great. It's only been a couple hours so we'll see.

Just wanted to pass it on

OK. I'm a dumas! Went through the whole tank beautifully but with a error here and there on provari. So opened it up and found a hot spot. Carelessly trying to fix it I popped the coil. This was a used wick and kind of raggedy. After about 5 attempts to wrap a new coil and popping each I started with a better used one.

First try... Beautiful!

2 ohms, micro'ish coil. Very excited! filled that puppy up and got a mouth full o juice and leaking like a sieve. Guessing my wick wasn't thick enough or I didn't leave enough sticking out? I'll try again on my other one. But in the meantime I layed a piece of silica across the top of the coil sticking out the holes. and after closing it and clipping as close as I could, vaping like a fogger! No leaks. No gurgles.

So you prompted me to try a SS mesh build, since I've tried every other wick medium under the sun, but not SS. Turns out the designers of this thing must have had SS in mind, because it's working GREAT! I did about 6 wraps of 30g, tightly spaced, but not true micro touching... came out to 1.5 ohms. It's the first wick I've tried that's keeping up, and not dry hitting and requiring primer pulls every other hit.

If you haven't tried SS yet, give it a shot... I actually used one of the 2 SS wicks that it came with, just took the stock coil off and wrapped my own.

Scope,

Did you use the o-ring?

Yes, I did ... I do the trick where you put it on the chimney first, screw the chimney onto the base, then let the o-ring "fall" onto the threads, much less wear and tear that way (thanks to whoever posted that idea in this thread)

I pretty much always use the o-ring as bad things happen when I don't. ;-)

I might tackle mine again tonight, but I want to be sure of a couple of points that have already been addressed:

1: I know micro coils are "the thing" but I cannot build one to save my life. I just don't have the fine motor control. So I'll have to use silica or ekowool. I'm aiming for just under 1Ohm sooo....3-4 wraps of 28 gauge kanthal? If I'm using two 1.5mm strands of ekowool (solid, not hollow) do I need to use the o-ring to curtail flooding/leaking?

2: Filling. Every time I've tried to fill this thing, even when using needle-tip bottles or syringes, I get negative pressure, pushing most of the e-liquid back up through the fill hole. A youtube video showed that filling it while holding it upside-down worked great. Is anyone else doing this?

Discount vapers and Temco have kanthal conversion charts for ohms per foot and inch. Just measure and you're good.

For the negative pressure when filling my gennys, I need to use a much thinner needle than the fill hole is. It allows the air to be pushed out of the tank as I fill. Maybe that's the problem with your fogger.

Yeah if the price is right (around $30, like the V2 when it isn't being price-gouged) I'll definitely pick one up.
Same for an improved Ithaka clone. I've got the latest one from fasttech sitting in front of me, daring me to start tinkering
with it......
evil temptress....!!!

I just got my ithaka clone from FT last night - two words. SO GOOD. I think I might buy one or two more. give it a quick boil on the stove, and then remove the o-rings on the plastic tank and the outer metal pieces. Vape heaven.

My Fogger v2 should be in shortly, hopefully by mid next week.

Scope,

That ss mesh build still going strong?

Yes, it is! This is definitely the most longevity I've had out of any build I've tried, and I've tried a LOT. The great thing is from what I've heard about SS, this setup should last for a LONG time. The only negative part of the whole thing was having to do the pulse method to work out the hot spots, took me about 10 minutes or so... but once I built up a bit of oxidation, the coil was firing nice and evenly.

I have the cotton/micro coil build perfected, I just don't like the taste of the cotton after a couple of days. I'll try mesh today, you used the stock wick right?

Yeah, the very same one that was mounted in it when it arrived. I just didn't use the stock coil, as I don't know if it's Kanthal A1, it was too few wraps, and was wrapped WAY too loose. I tried to orient it by looking at the marks on the ends so that it would occupy the holes perfectly. I also used the o-ring under the chimney, and I make sure my fill screw is in place and tightened.

Any one know what size?

For what it's worth, if the nylon piece inside is oriented the right way (easy to have it NOT be correct) ... I think it gets plenty of air stock.

Also the insulator for the center air hole has to be in the right spot, and not blocking the 2 holes in the shaft.

Just ordered one from vaporbeast... for $27 shipped..couldn't resist!

Same here, was holding out for V3, but depending on what is done to it I'll grab a V3 as well, maybe the V2 can be retrofitted!

General question, is the tank more fragile then any other tank? I know a few have broken them, guess I should grab a spare tank when I see one available.
